Seeking a Carbuncle Mitt Soloer, 100k Reward

I will pay 100k (negotiable) for someone to find/solo the tonberry that drops the Carbuncle's mitts. You will get your pay after they drop, and I will cover teleport costs (although I will have to take a chocobo ^^; ). Please post, PM, or send me a tell in game to work out a time. I have classes in the morning on weekdays and I am gone on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons. I don't think I'll be on anymore tonight, but I will check in when I can this evening.

Is that NM even soloable? I always thought you need a party for that guy.

I don't think any job can solo it. At least not before all the EP/DC monsters to level 75s repop and then link. And there's no real safe spot to pull it to either, thanks to the magic aggresive monsters near the pop itself, as well as sprinkled all over that entire floor of the temple, mixed in with more tonberries.

Plus you need the pop item, I don't know if you knew about that or not. (I'm just leaning on the side of caution and mentioning it.) And the prelate key to get past the door... Or the ability to aggro monsters through the door without aggroing the wandering NM doll that roams that part of the temples.

I'd guess it's possible, but by no means easy. Get a party for this. I highly doubt anyone would give this a shot solo. A small group works well.

Just a word of advice. I would pay a third up front (after you tele the soloer) and the rest after he gets it

Would be extremely difficult to solo. A small party of 4-5 including a BRD would be much more reasonable, and still risky unless they were pretty familiar with the fight.

This is a popped NM, requires a rare/ex item obtained from examing a ??? point in the temple, it's not easy to get in the first place as you have to open doors with sight aggro mobs wandering around, including inside the rooms you need to check for the ???. The ??? is on a 2 hour timer once someone gets the item, no guarantee it'll be available when you go to check.

I'd suggest you spend some time researching the item you need, work on obtaining that long before you try and hire some guns to kill the NM for you. Maybe check on some server forums, often you'll find a LS will organize a run for mitts for people with the understanding light spirit pacts are to benefit the LS/open lot, etc.

And I didn't realize it was a pop NM, the way I've seen it described before is that you go in, kill, and leave o-o I need to research more...meh.

Took me three months of shouting at level 55 WHM to get a full party together to fight this, and most of them came from my linkshell (finally).

A good way to get people to help is to let them have the light spirit pact drop, although that used to be 800k and is now less than 200k on Unicorn so I dunno if that'll help....

Sadly you need REAL good friends to get this.. and theres a good chance you'll die because the Tonberry uses Astral Flow + Searing Light right when you pop it, so you get to eat like 500+ damage. That's why BRD is good... (Light Carole)

This is not at all solo-able, You have 6 mins to take it down before repops. Once there are re-pops your dead with 5-6 links. Ive done this alot of times, BST or an Avatar just cant last when it throat stabs them. RDM can but cannot kill within 6 mins after all links are killed.

My suggestin to you, get 2 SMNs, and you Refresh them. Ifrit can do 1k dmg per BP but you need to at least let 6 of them land (3 per SMN). That wont kill it but it will only take 3-4 mins to do and then you can carby kite around the room while the other SMN rests. Once he has MP finish it off.

Every time I have done this I have taken at least 4 SMN 70+, Ifrit simply owns Tonberrys, the mobs there he can do 2k+ easy and 1k on the NM. Keep in mind that the NM uses Searing Light alot and has an elemental.
