How To Become A Dark Knight

Can Someone tell me the basic things i need to do to become a Dark Knight, at the mo im a Warrior and Monk at level 8:cry:

1-12 solo in gustaberg and konchatat or palborough mines.
12-20 make your way to Valkrum dunes, which is north of konchatat highlands.
20-25 make your way to jeuno and goto qufim island.
25-32 altepa, kazham or bibiki bay.

this doesnt include any of the quests you would need to do in the progress. ie: subjob quests, chocobo quest, kazham air ship quest, etc etc.

once you get to 30, dark knight quest is just about the easiest one you can do, next to the ranger one. anyhow, good luck.

I did this in Sarutabaruta (Well my second time..), I would use a Bomber since I had 0 Throwing Skill, I know it wouldn't hit that often, and do very little damage. That way I could train 4 or 5 mobs and then kill them with the Great Sword. At the time I was WAR12, with a very low Great Sword skill.

The key to the quest is to never put the weapon away. The delay is so damn high, takes forever to re-draw the weapon. So if you keep the weapon out and just keep taking down mobs, goes a little "faster."

And word to the wise... /sigh. Do NOT do any of your killing while in a party. I did this with two other people, the whole while chatting and making fun of how few kills the other people had at that time. Suddenly we went in to trade up the Sword and nothing happened. So I killed ~200 for the Quest, then 100 more to upgrade the sword to the Deathbringer (http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/487) and was not a very happy camper. So don't duplicate the mistakes of Odude and have to basically do the quest TWICE!
