Black Screen Please Help

Help! When i click on Play on the Final Fantasy XI screen the screen goes black then doesn't go any further and goes back to the FFXI Screen !!!:worry:

Sounds like you can't play the opening movie.

Find an exe file called ffxi config, there is an option which turns off the starting movie, turn it of and restart your computer and try again.

where abouts is this file im in the final fantast XI folder at the moment but no luck

Ahhh i found it but now it opens but closes soo quickly

Its ok i was stupid enough to keep the POV open that was the problem

Check your files with the POL viewer, some may be corrupted.

how do i check cos I been on this before and installed it the exact same way but i aint had this problem

When you start playonline viewer you have an option at the side to check files.

ahhh yes i just check the POL files and nothing has been found now checking the FFXI files

Lol! Youll need to reinstall FFXI then I think. Have you been swapping .dats or something? Thats alot of corrupt files.

i aint swapped a thing lol and i reinstalled FFXI like twice but had same problems :worry:

Sounds liek a format of your computer is needed, as obviously something on it is corrupting those files.

alos when you update you version with the full uopdates i.e. 3 hours downlaod install etc has it ever crashed during this as that sometimes corrupts your files.
