Hello everyone. ^^ I played FFXI for 2 years, and quit earlier this year. I'm considering making a comeback, but I feel like I need a change of environment. I was on Phoenix before, and don't get me wrong, I have no complaints about the server... I'd like to come back and have the experiences feel mostly new again. Not to mention a lot of friends who used to play have all gone by now.
What I'm looking for is some information on the general community of the different servers. Because of work, school, etc. I am mostly a weekend player, except for those moments I get some extra time. So I'm looking for a community that's pretty active on forums and whatnot so I can keep up with things when I'm at work during the week. A high population of English-speaking players is helpful of course, but not a must, so long as English-speakers aren't the minority. I'm not really looking for a server with a lot of drama; often times that mess gets to the point where I'm just tired of hearing about it. And of course a helpful and friendly player base is nice, but I realize all servers have players who fit this description.
I just want to get some input from the other communities out there. I feel like I've only seen a fraction of what this game has to offer, and would like to see much more before I put it down for good.
