Returning after a long time

Hi everyone. It's been a long time since I played FFXI. I played for about 3 months, but quitted after it totally messed up my school. I got things back up straight now, but haven't been on FFXI for like.. a year or two. I'm still in college, and wondering if I should return to FFXI now. I am quite easily addicted to any kind of role-playing game, fantasy movie or even a book. I'm a dreamer. And now I think about playing FFXI again, one of the biggest fantasy story's I can think of! I don't know if this is a good idea or not.

Have you changed? It's not like the game got more or less addicting. If you let it screw you over last time, and you haven't had a personal self-control revolution, odds are you'll do it again.

Wondering now if I changed, lol. Also, i'm looking for other games to play too. I don't even care what kind of game, as long as it's multiplayer.

Actually, it doesn't even have to be a game lol. If I find a nice forum to spend time on that's fine too. Like, before I played FFXI, i spend a lot of time on a console-emulation forum. (Mxemu)

The way I see it, you should only play as long as your being as successful as you can be outside the game first, and only continue to play if your able to maintain that. If you can't balance your study time and game time, and your grades or going to suffer for it, then be honest with yourself and realize you have something abit more important to do, than go back to FFXI. Real Success is so much sweeter than getting any fullset of whatever or making that milestone lvl.

I've just returned to FFXI too, Today i went out and bought the PC version... Boy are the controls weird. PS2 version of FFXI is way better at controls. Anyways... After 1-2 years after i quit, i've returned! Boy the game and people haven't changed much. With the XbOx 360 people, I can make new friends. All my old ones... i 've forgotten... *cry*. I left FFXI because of WoW :O. Then After MANY MANY 60s i quit and rejoined the more fulfilled story line of FFXI! I'm on Gilgamesh! give me a holler if you want to talk to me! Lv.3 MNK! ftw..... BTW, i don't know how people suffer from FFXI, back then to my FFXI days, i maintained a 3.8 GPA, even though i played FFXI 15 hours a day.

Weird i've never been affected by games at all. Even in WoW, i've played for 1-4 days straight and never affected me.... Anyways, i hope you rejoin and fix that FFXI overtaking your life, and ruining ur studies! What you should do is, homework first, or multitask it! like i did! and when u log off FFXI, review the work u did and revise your work so it can be the best it can be! Goodluck!
