This is not for the good, understanding, considerate people on ramuh. This is for the morons.
DO NOT INVITE ME JUST BECAUSE I HAVE D2!!!
I will NOT d2 your PT for FREE just because you invited me!
Three (3) times today, I was invited to PTs which IMMEDIATELY disbanded. One, I used my XP ring, and then two characters simultaneously said, "GTG, d2." Well, you know what? You guys can WALK!
If I get any more invites like this, I will charge 50k per d2. I have to pay for the teleport to get out to you, I lose out on a REAL invite and a half hour of MY valuable time, so now YOU get to pay for it!
I will D2 any PT willing to actually XP with me, but this is RIDICULOUS! I missed out on a whole day of XP because of jackasses who do this BS! It's rude, it's inconsiderate, and you WILL be blisted!!!!
This should be in the general forum.
Also, stapled to the heads of anyone who even tries to pull this crap.

that's so messed up.
Tell me about it. Once would have been bad enough! And it isn't all the members most of the time, too, just one or two who decide to wait for the blm to show up. :vent:

As a general rule of thumb, I never use a charge on the exp ring until we've killed a mob or two in an exp party. The last thing I want to do is waste a charge, which is both time and conquest points, on a party that can't even muster 1k exp an hour.
Also, when going BLM, I never D2 anyone unless they ask for it. For some reason when a exp party breaks, everyone automatically expects you to D2 them. They don't ask for D2, somehow you're supposed to read their mind that they want it. Mindreading isn't a BLM job trait, so I'll warp myself and leave everyone to walk it if they don't ask by the time I rest to full mp. Yes, received alot of nasty /tells that way.
Don't blame you. Alot of people aren't so sharp on Ramuh, so be careful.

Wow, i wouldnt even grant those people a reply, i'd just warp myself and leave them to the crabs.

Yep.
I've never encountered those people, but man, that would annoy me. I'd do the good old D2-and-cancel-spellcast trick, then warp off.
Btw Balfree, I GET IT! CRABS! MOUTH FULL OF CRABS!
I think for normal situation tho, Blm warp 2 is just like Whm giving their highest raise when PT member dies... they don't give raise 1 just because the dead doesn't ask for 3 you know.
So really. you're the blm, we all expect you to D2. Normally I even ask the PT myself if they want it. You too know they want it. warping yourself back leaving everyone behind is just lame. You make uneccesary enemies, and mark yourself selfish.

I always ALWAYS warp every member, starting with those who ask. if they don't use a cudgel or warp themselves or run off by the time i get to them, they obviously want it.
On another note, though, I've cooled off a bit by today, but if this happens today again, I will kill someone with my bare hands. -.-

But you forget the inverse. Some people get pissed if you D2 them without their permission. Yes, received angry /tells, "WTF!! Why you warp me?!?!". After those incidents, I adopted my current philosophy that if they really want it, they'll ask for it.

Notice the ask part. You're an ass for not providing your pt for D2, but you're equally as bad if you D2 your pt without asking.
Think of it this way. You had a great time with your pt, it would just be common courtesy to ask them if they needed a D2. Your pt, who just gotten you a billion xp, shouldn't have to beg you for one. You should be courteous enough to offer them one. Whether they refuse it or not is up to them.

Yeah, if I was a black mage, I'd tell the party to let me know if they wanted a warp. Once I was done warping those who spoke up, I'd warp myself unless one of the members was afk. If I needed to go right then, I'd warp the afk person then myself.
Regarding the OP - that's just wrong. >< It wouldn't even occur to me to do that do someone.

Well, today I PTd with one of the asses from the second PT that did it to me, one of the two that (after 40 minutes of travel) said "gtg, d2." I struggled inwardly. He was a terrible pld who couldn't skillchain till halfway through the PT, had trouble holding hate, and laughed about what he and his friend did yesterday. So, I decided to compromise. I d2'd everyone but him from Garlaige basement, gave him sneak, then warped.
If he'd had a different attitude about the whole thing, I'd have d2'd him, too. But, somehow, I got a little satisfaction from him having to walk for mocking me about it.

I thought most of the idiots left to play Wow...I guess like me they got sick of it and came back to FFXI. I dont like to party with random people anymore because of the moron factor and people said it would get better as I got higher lvl, but I have met more idiots from 45+ than I did from 12-44.
I think I will be stuck at lvl 59 forever :D

Enough with the WoW flames, FFXI has more than enough homegrown morons.
Here's what you do, greydaze.
If they ask you to d2, tell them you're 20 tnl and you need just one more fight for level.
After they pull, d2 all the people who didnt ask for a d2 out of there, including yourself.
....and leave the rest of them to die. {Mhaura}hahaha

It's been rough partying through the 50s as BLM, most parties only yield 1-2k exp after 2 hours of finding replacements, finding camp, and then break after a short time. No, they haven't earned anything from me. If I find the party capable, it's a complete different story, but parties in those levels are such a pain in the ass. The melee don't setup a SC, the tank rotates the mob to face the mages all the time(conal AOE), RDMs don't refresh anyone but themselves(even if you ask for it), RDMs don't haste the melee, pullers grabbing links all the time(should let him die on bad pulls instead saving him only to kill the party). If a party is nub, they aren't entitled to anything.

Mog: Wow, I'm not quite that evil... Besides, these nubs will prolly die of aggro on their walk home.

I know what you mean! I was in one of those parties with you, both of us arrive in Garliage citidel at the same time and when we find the party (who where sitting in the middle of no where!) 10 minutes later, they turn around and say "Oh, I GTG".
Fuck them, you where right to refuse warps.
I rarely ask for D2's, I've usually got a scroll, spell (if rdm/blm) or a crudgel on me, personally. Everyone should carry at least one of those to not depend on Black mages to warp.

I bring my own warp device with me at all times.

I /salute BOTH of you. I always brought two warp cudgels with me, just in case, as RNG.
I haven't gotten another PT like this since this post, although I DID get a bad one with an idiot NIN the other day... /sigh. When will the noobs go away? ; ;

newbies are 1/2 the fun of FF, cept of course when there's always someone going afk. As in literally every pull on or the other would go afk.

Actually, I'm totally great with adds. I aalways use my ele seal macro with sleep2 to put the mob down, and sleep it every time it wakes. It always lands (well, ok, once it had to be recast on a bat) because my enfeebling is capped all the time.

Doesn't help that half of the leveling spots are in some dull cave or other uninteresting area. Like 10 mins into any party I am already bored out of my mind and looking for something else to do, either watch tv or play xbox or play on my other pc. Especially if there's no one online at the time that I can bug with my random chatter.
Actually I can stand Wajaom Woods because it's a pretty zone and has nice background music so it can keep my interest for a couple hours, too bad I have only partied there once.
Oh yeah the even sadder thing is even with my ADHD and me paying attention only half the time I am still better then 90% of the RDM lvl it seems :(

I quit leveling in Aug 04 because of people being unable to function together in PT's and have been a 55Rdm/54Blm/53Whm ever since. I have just had to get used to getting by on my own so as not to be bothered all the time. That's the price of dealing with people and their own agenda's........LOL (i had the best time as a bete tester in 03, go figure)
