For some reason it seems my Carbuncle summoning files are corrupted. Whenever I summon out Carbuncle, just as he is about to appear, the game and POL crash to desktop with no error messages. I've tested summoning all my other avatars and they seem to be ok, so its just Carbuncle that is the issue. This only seems to be his summoning animation, as I can dismiss him without crashing.
Is there any way to fix this with a file replacement or will I need to reinstall the entire game?
[Edit] After a lot of searching in the areas of POL I'd think to find the file check option that was recently added, I finally found the link. It is in the opening menu when you select your profile/user to log in as. Since I have POL auto login, it took a while to find, especially since the update notes about this feature never listed where to find it.
Anyways, after running the file check (about 15mins to check all 20k+ files) it found 4 corrupted files and offered to fix them. The file repair first scanned about 14k of the game files again, then downloaded 5 files and installed all the files it scanned. The 14k files really confused me as well as the fact that it found 4 broken files and downloaded 5, but the game seems to be working now and I can summon Carbuncle without crashing.
