If i get ffxi for 360 will i be able to play with people from the pc?

Yup. Everybody from PS2, PC and 360 are all on the same servers.

Yes, all the servers are totally integrated, and not platformist in any way.

Oh, but if there's a specific person or persons you want to play with, you should get a worldpass to whatever server they play on. Otherwise the system will randomly deal you out to whatever server has the lowest population.

If none of you are playing, you can request worldpasses in the sticky threads in the server-specific forums on this board to make sure you all end up together.

How do i get a world pass does it cost money

It does cost in-game gil, but it's a trivial amount at this point in the game's economy.

well what happens if u jus get the game and install it do they auto put u on a server or can u pick? Like i am starting gameplay next week so i dont know yet

It will put you on a server with fewer people. The only way you can pick a server is to have someone buy you a worldpass and give you the number for it for when you create a new character.

I've heard you can just keep creating and deleting characters until you hopefully end up on the one you want, but I'm not sure thats even possible, since I've heard it has the server picked advance.

Now it'll randomly pick a server for the first character and put all successive attempts on that one.

Ah, ok. I remember reading it ages ago, but couldn't remember where I read it or anything.

I recently rebought the game and let it place me where it would, but I did a bit of restarting a couple of times to see what servers it put me on. It definitely does choose one at random, although from what I understand, certain servers aren't in the normal new user rotation.

If you do not get a world pass from someone, you have no control over which server you're put on.

Trying to randomly land on the right server through repeated creation and deletion of a character has been made not at all worth the effort.
