you see i have heard many rumours that Europe wont get a release!?
and the Sqaue Enix site for europe is still under construction as soon as its finished i will find out but does any 1 know any where ? which will tell me if its getting released or not?

Don't believe any rumour you hear -- most of the time its false. Unless Square-Enix says otherwise, its likely that Europe will get a release but don't hold me for it.

Yes FFXI is going to have a Europeon release, unfortunately for us here in europe it's going to be early 2004 :(

If it were me i would guess that it wouldnt come out in europe till late 2004 as games are usually delayed a lot. But this is from the experience as a console game player so i am not really sure.

If it doesnt come out in US soon i will probably import from Japan and wait till it comes out in UK. But if it does come out in US, will we need to get a US address? As I obvously live in UK, i dont have a US address. Would anyone offer the use of their address?

Unless Square Europe officialy says that the game won't come out in Europe, don't beleive forums that says so. It's easy to say something like that just to see people's reaction. A few persons tend to enjoy doing that over boards for a lot of different games.

But I gotta agree with the the 2004 release in Europe. But I'd say about Q2 of 2004 since it should come here (in NA) in Q3 or Q4 and the European version of FFXI has been started for a few months if I'm not mistaken.

Just keep having hope!

Just online order from any of the popular American / Canadian computer / software sales websites and log on to a nice quick server. You might suffer about:

minimum theoretical lag: 60ms, avg hop from N.A. to Europe: 18, avg switch delay per hop: 3ms

60ms + 3*18ms = 114ms of lag

this could easily range from 70ms to 200ms depending soley on your isp provider and the ammount of tampering the packets must sustain through security and monitoring.
