I just signed up two. I think I will have a decent chance to get picked because, they need people from every state atleast, and here in Wyoming...Well, you get the point. :) And I will be able to beta test 40+ hours a week. Cause I have no like. Hehe.

It really doesn't matter how much beta experience you have. They just choose random people of all shapes n' colors. In order to have a good beta run, they need to pick different kinds of people: Experienced Testers, Newbie Testers & those who have never played a single MMORPG (beta or not) in their life. :cool:

Well, there was a question later in the application, asking if your a minor or not, and if you are, if your parents gave permission.

Oh well, Putting a different age wont matter much, I thinks... But you made yourself 7 or 8 years older... big difference!

1) do i have to pay to be a beta tester??

2)will they release a harddrive for the ps2 testers??

those questions were answerd already....so since you wont read to find them here they are

1) yes you have to pay $45 a month to beta test with a $100 sign on

and

2) yes you get a free HDD that they will supply you with and you will never have to return. if you dont have a Network adapter you can get one of those too.

isnt 45$ a month a bit pricy? 10$ is high but 45....... dam how can i cancel this beta test.........i dont have money for dat.. about the 100? i dont get it!!

Ummmmmmmm.... I don't think it'll cost anything.... It didn't say anything when you applied, so they're not going to all-of-a-sudden charge you for being accepted....

lol woah woah, sorry. Lol i didnt think you would take me seriously. No a beta test usually wont cost you a dime, it is unprofessional if it does.

and yes they will supply the HDD, but no you cant keep it, and no they wont supply the Network Adapter.

By the Way, if you would have read the Agreement terms you would have known all of this since it is written in it. Yeaah I know it's long, but it's worth it since all the informations are in it. Like : they'll ship the game to us when selected, no fee will be charged and stuff like that.

Beside, you gotta read it so that you know what you get into and see that they made some mistakes in them :biggrin:
(But the mistakes ain't that big anyway, I've seen much worst)

One thing is funny tho : FFXI will be the first game I know that has been released from 2 differents company names : Square (Jap version) and Square Enix for the Expansion and the NA version.

i applied a few minutes ago, I really hope i get picked, I'm so bored waiting for this game........and with the release seeming to be so far off......oh please please please, but either way, even if i don't get in, about 1 month from now many webpages will be flooded with FFXI info anyway....go E3!

DOh! I forgot to include Ultima Onine for Beta testing. Even still have the Beta CD. It is okay.

But after reading the agreement, I think we should check our e-mail and regular mail often for an acceptance notice. (And obviously, check back on the site for when it ended.)

Though I wonder what would improve your chances of being picked?

Well I guess they will check the specs for the PC version and your past in the BETA community (I.E. your BETA tester background) and the section where you talk about Why they should pick you.

Maybe where you live in NA will have influence since they'll wanna see the lag through all of NA. (I hope I'm right since I'm in Quebec (Canada), maybe that would give me a chance ;) )

I think I just ruined my chances of doing the beta test today as I think I may have black listed myself. But I am still hoping for the best.

Got in to a blunder with an importer's account. Should have followed my own security tip.

Lesson to importers (Again): Don't forget your account info, they get suspicious if you start guessing and stop knowing things one should remember.

I think they'll treat you like everyone else. Helping one beta will open up more to you, what would happen if they took only beta experienced people? Then the cycle would crumble.

Beta testing is free, they specify it in the license agreement. They also mention you have to send back all they send to you.

There might be a special item (collector's item or memento) but they'd tell you if you can keep it.

Actually, they said that you have to send back the stuff they gave if if they ask for it back. So they won't probably ask for the game disks, but if they send extra stuff (maybe PS2 HDD???) then you have to send it back to them when they ask to. And remember that we all agreed to that :thumbsup:

Don't think you have to worry about that to much. If they were to even look at these like they were resume's then, as long as the Essay catches their intrest is unique among the many then it should catch their intrest.

donno, but I don't expect an aswer before 2 or 3 weeks at least. After all, how many ppl like us did enter the beta ? :) I think it will be a question of how much ppl they want to test the stress on the new servers, and then they probably want to have ppl 24h/day on those... soooo... how about 10k-20k ppl ? ;)

rofl, more like 2k-6k player probably :) I hope i'm in !!! even if I am a beta tester n00b ! ^_^x
