Personally, I would drop the THF and get a DRK or PLD. The droprate on the Katana is 100% is the NM DOSN'T blow up, but ~10% if it does. Thus, keeping it stunned with a x-bash JA whenever it redies Self-Destruct would be much more benneficial, unless you are farming the tar also.

Make sure the BRD and WHM keep Barfira and Fire Carol up on everybody at all times, Wheel of Fire is nasty but it's not worth wasting a stun on.

I've done this NM a couple times. It's very unpleasant. As mentioned, +fire resistance is key. Barfira, preferably from RDM/WHM, and Fire Carol.

Don't stun Wheel of Fire. It's FAR preferable to Self-Destruct.

Oh, and expect to die a lot if you're needing to farm the tar.

There are many posts that the Great Katana is not 100% even if it still has all 3 bombs.

AS you see with the setup it cange change its strategy many ways, if the party needs to keep it from SDing, it can. If SD is better, then we can go that route as well.

As for tar yeah we will be farming that as well (high drop rate) are they as tough as the NM or just SDing that kills.

I can confirm this from personal experience. The katana is not 100% drop under any circumstance I've seen.
