1. Obtain either "FFXI expansion" or "FFXI all-in-one pack".
2. If you buy the new all-in-one pack, you will need to go through the Playonline Viewer installation and Playonline membership registration. If you are already a Playonline member, skip to step 3.
3. At the top Login screen, make sure your Playonline Viewer version is 1.09.00h or above. If not, login into Playonline and complete the version up. (1.09.00h is available after the 4/10 update)
4. PS2 and Win installation is different. For PS2, at the top Login screen, select "Install". For Win, insert the CD-ROM and follow the installer wizard.
5. Move to the FFXI top page.
6. Select "ContentID", select "Registration" under "Expansion Content".
7. Enter your Playonline ID and password.
8. Registration code sheet comes with the game package. Enter your registration code (for the expansion).
9. Confirmation screen. Go back to FFXI top page and select "Play". (After installation, there will be a version up download)

Hmm this makes me wonder....

I've had to re-install ffxi a few times cuz something was wrong with the comp and all so i had to Reformat HDD. I can reinstall ffxi no prob and i can even skip the CD-key since i got my ID and all. But if installing the expansion requires you to activate it with a CD key, then wouldn't the key expire after its first use?

No, it's just a unique key and it will probably be associated with your contents ID. This is really to stop one person buying the expansion then taking it round to their friend and letting them install. They had to do something like this.

Yhea. It is another way for them to make more money. Did you think they were not gonna put something like this into the expansion and let people copy their software? doing that is illegal buddy...

yeah yeah... just go ahead to flame me. I can take it. I guess I can't express my feeling on this board.

My intent was not on flamming you, and you can express your opinion on these boards but just take a minute and think of what you said. Square needs to make money, they can't afford to let people copy their software.

Good work translating. Hey, square doesn't need to make money anymore, they already lost <points to new logo "Square-Enix">. Read the business end of the bargain (I forgot the link, was posted so long ago) but other than FFXI, Enix has more control in the company. Its only 3,298 yen or something, not that pricey. Personally, I'm not even going to buy it until I'm close to lv65, unless I was high lv only then would I be getting the full experience :o
