NM Hunting Tips

Anyone know of any good tips to get those NMs right when they pop? I heard there are some conditions that govern the spawning of these things. I'm not sure if I should be waiting at one specific spot, or wandering around a certain block or blocks on the map.

In particular, I've been trying to look for Leaping Lizzie, but to no avail. Suggestions?

Have a RNG sub...
NM hunting is much easier (though still patience-trying) if you know where your prey is once the pop...
Not saying you won't have any competition or anything...

Leaping Lizzie: I spent 6 hours with today, fought 2, no drop :mad:

Here's what I did:

-RNG sub (essential I think, seeing as theres a big rock in the middle of the pop points so u don't know where it will pop)
-Keep running around the rock killing all the lizards
-When it gets to around the pop time, don't go out of the way to kill lizards, instead concentrate on scanning the area

If you can, use a level 15 thief (or higher) as your main or sub so you can take advantage of its treasure hunter ability. It made a huge difference for me when I go Notorious Monster poaching.

*** most important, get ready to stick to one place for many hours. :)

stay alert because other people might steal your NM.

if you are certain there's rival, prepare something to steal the monster etc /war to taunt, or /blm /rdm for poison/dia. Being able to kill the NM at all is better than /thf and not being able to kill any

You can also try hunting when it's like the middle of the night in Japan or something.

2-3 hours before the maintenance is the best time for me to hunt NM^^
