There are many great importers in FFXI. Many are great with help and translation, but I want to focus on really great gamers. Please list your great players.

CHOPPY
I was inspired to create this after I partied with Choppy on Rangrok last night. Choppy was LV52 Monk (I believe his main job is Thief). Choppy was one of the best players I've ever played with, including the Japanese. I stumbled on him by accident being a PT leader. He knew where to hunt and guided us to the hunting spot in Davoi. The Japanese did not know what WS to use, so Choppy in perfect Japanese suggested one. Once there, he became the hunter and his efficiency was amazing. He knew just when to get the next prey and mixed up tsuyo, tote and totetote. He eyed the mages' MP and hunted when he thought we were ready. As he hunted, he told us what we were hunting, the level of Orcs and the signal that he is coming, all in Japanese. For Renkei, he would see other players TP and use "Call" to prepare for WS. Thanks to him almost everyone leveled up. I gave a pop in Japanese and everyone followed with what great timing he has.

While all that I've mentioned may seem basic and may seem like what everyone else does, it is rare to find such a good player. I just wished we had a BRD. It would truely have been amazing. And best of all, he is an importer:) I was proud and honored:handsdown

ANAVRIN
Not often do we find such a down to earth importer, since the image of an importer is usually one of an elitist god. Anavrin has done 2200 damage in renkei, and knows how to fish monsters too. Anavrin starts his own G parties, and much experience is had by all. Anavrin also has a linkshell where other down to earth importers can talk and share experiences. :handsdown

No, im sorry, this is the worst thread ever. This should be renamed the "Importer Ass-Kissing Thread" or the "L337 PL4Y3RZ THR34D". I have partied with just as many great Japanese players, importers, whatever (im sure we all have had good pt experiences). I can list a million friggen names, but why?

You just described a "good pt" in your post. We have all had "good pt's" before. It may be because you're a RDM that its rare for you. (not taking shots, but the ideal pt does not have a RDM... ive never been in a good RDM pt... but thats me.)

So many players do what you listed and will never get recognition for it. Creating a list here wouldn't even scratch the surface of the good players on the server. And limiting it to importers makes it even worse. Nearly every high level importer is a good and experienced PT member. And we know who all the high level importers are, so this would just be further ass kissing.

Flame me if you want (everyone loves to flame me) but thats my opinion.

Ass-kissing? I don't think so. I have no links to any importer LS and most of my contacts are through this forum. I have partied with importers in the past, but I have never played with someone who played how an excellent player plays. Since we've had so many heated threads, I thought it would be nice to highlight great import players, which I'm sure there are many.

Anarvin, I've never PTed with you or talked to you in the past. Maybe I had looooong time ago when I was in AG. I know your name and you probably are an awesome all-around player as you say. What I don't understand is why all the negativty? A simple constructive post would have been fine. Perhaps, we should add Japanese players as you say. I stuck to importers to narrow the scope and since this forum is mailnly for the importers. I also see your knock on RDM uncalled for.

If you do not agree with me, then that's fine. You are entitled to your opinion, but there are better ways to express it then in a slamming fashion which seems to be the trend here. How sad is that?:(

Here's my opinion. :) When you start making a thread listing all the players that you think are great, there's always going to be some people that disagree. Or that some people may have had bad experience playing with that person. When they speak up it's not going to be good

Tongyang, I respect your opinion and I thank you for the manner in which you presented it. I was too naive to think that this could be a good post listing all the great players. I see clearly now that what was started with good intention can be turned ugly.

This thread is now closed:(
