I haven't done much in the new expansion area, and as a means of faster transportation to Aht Urghan Whitegate my friend told me to set my HP there and just use the teleportation npc, that doesn't charge, to get back to jeuno. My problem is he didn't tell me where he was located, I already set my HP in Whitegate and I've been looking around for like an hour and still can't find him. If anyone knows, please help me out lol.

The free taru that warps you to Jeuno (or surrounding area) is located in Al Zhabi (sp) right outside of the mog house there. He's standing on top of some boxes. I spent over an hour in Whitegate looking for this taru before a lightbulb clicked and someone said "Hey Mesh, he's in Al Zhabi!!".
There is also one in Whitegate who will charge you imperial currency (I think its silver), I think he'll only be used if the free one is ever taken as prisoner.

The name is Shihu-Danhu. He makes a cute face when he says, "Oops" when he warps you.
Their directions are correct. He's in Al Zhabi. If you exit your Moghouse in Al Zhabi, he is to the right, standing on some crates.

The free one in Al Zhabi will warp you to a random point somewhere around Jeuno. You may end up un Rue'lude Gardens, but you may not. If the Astral Candesence is gone (and the taru wasn't taken prisoner) his accuracy is even worse and you could end up on the far side of the zones away from Jeuno.
His older brother in Whitegate charges a silver piece, and the NPC right around the corner will sell you one for 100 IS points. That's cheaper than a tele and about the same as you pay for the warps to the telepoints in ToAU anyway.
In addition to that, after you have used the pay-per-ride service 3-4 tmes you get a second option - warp to city of allegiance. This will deliver you to the outpost warp guy in your city of allegiance. Assuming you have your outpost warp quests done, you can now OP to wherever you need to be while passing through your home moghouse to pick up whatever items you may need from storage!
All of a sudden a silver piece doesn't seem so expensive any more!

There is a draw-back though. Use of the little brother (free one) after using the older brother, will cause the older brother to think you are smelly and will charge you 3 silver pieces to warp you.

If you use the free one, he will call you smelly, but I didn't know you could still get the warp for 3 silver pieces. If you wait till after JP midnight, all will be peace and love again, so the 3 silver charge is at most for that one day, or possibly only a one time charge.
That darn warp taru is altogether too big for his boots, someone needs to cut him down to size ^^

I bought a Gold Piece on the AH, and broke it down into 10 silver, which I now keep around for the express purpose of using the Warp Taru. So far it's working out really well, and this way I'll never have to worry about him being gone, or me not being able to port to my home nation.
I love the Pay Taru. Only thing is, I can blow through 1500 IS a day going to and from the various places. I also haven't been so good about Meriting, so my points haven't been above 3k in a long while! lol
But it's great for going to trade in GP items, or get that one item out of /storage that you're glad you decided to hold on to. I have no problem coughing up that Silver piece to get Warp'd some place else, and it doesn't actually pull gil out of my pocket. {Yes please.}

Yeah the pay taru is right when he talked about high class teleportation. I became addicted.

So, it's been made apparent you can tele almost anywhere from Whitegate, what about the other way around? If you tele to Jeuno or your home town, is there anyway to just tele back or do you have to take the ship from Mhaura? And I mean besides warping after setting your HP in Aht Urghan.

There is a quest you can do for a ring (http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/8265) that will allow you to teleport back to the Near East, but nothing that will take you right to Whitegate just yet. So unless you're setting your HP there, you will have to either use this ring, or take the boat.
