I want a clear menu just like this...it may end up getting on my nerves untill I get used to it, but... its sweet for when you have the menu open and are on auto-run, or when you need to change stuff, and want to make sure nothing is going to pop on you :) found it on some forums ages old, but no link to d/l it or explain how it was done. Thanks in advance.

Looks like either a 3rd Party Program that did it, or considering that in the pic the moogle is black the person altered the .DAT for the menus and gave the background a 0% opacity (Transparent).

If it's a 3rd party program please no links. There will be trouble if we catch a link posted.

no it said in the forum it was a .dat mod ...but it was over a year old so ....the links were dead to d/l it....only thing I can think of s if they alpha'd the whole thing? does that work for menus etc? also the moogle was darker because they said they edited it as well. it was on killingifrit dat pages ...first couple of pages into it ...yeah ...way old lol

Use changetex to change the pattern on one of the backgrounds so it's completely blank and transparent.

ah cool... naturally lol... the ONLY program that I didnt d/l way back when I started .dat modding and d/led all the tools to mod, well.... time to get started on it I suppose. Thanks :)

Yes, I'm aware that they edited the moogle separate. I was using it as refference to the original pic creator's logic, what seemed like the most likely way he did it. Just confirmed that I hit it right on the refference guess.

You know there's a tranparent mode naturally in FFXI right? Not that transparent though. Select button 5 under Config > Windows I believe. Should be the same menu that let's you set the chat log height.

Not that I've found yet, at least not without 3rd pt stuff. It pulls the same GUI for all Menu's in-game.

I THINK its rom/0/ and files 14-21 are the in game menu colors .....I know its 14-21, im just hoping I got the rom 0 part right... wrote it down somewhere and forgot where XD but..it sounds about right.
