Vana'diel Live Cam

Hi,
Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I haven't been here in awhile and I just wondered what happened to the Vana'diel Live Cam? It used to fly all over Vana'diel and I would sit and watch and look forward to all the cool places that I hadn't been yet. Now I notice that it just sits there and stares at the auction house.. What happened?

Yeah its much more boring than it used to be; I'm sure they'll get around to it, maybe..someday...at some point.

Normally they show an AH, typically Windurst Walls or Lower Jeuno, during maintenance.


So they could just have left it there, and no one noticed.

haha yeah, and the character is perma-invised..which is cool..but yeah I think the person who usually runs the Livecam is still burnt out with running it during the ToAU teaser they did like back to back before release <_<.

My bet is that they are just trying to make it seem like everyone is in the new city, and where is generally the most crowded/traveled place in a city? The AHs (obviously)!

Though, I would think it would be a lot nice to have the cam fly through active assaults (specifically near players, so make the camera a bit more "smart" instead of having it go down a path, so to speak), fly through the various outdoor zones, maybe snap to the Al Zahbi gates when a besieged is occuring, etc.

Well obviously based off the pics I posted awhile ago when they were teasing us with ToAU, the cam can be pretty damn smart if they let it be. <_< I would love to see active assault, but not besieged, because its no where as violent as it was in the Fan Festival, because atm it's a bit depressing lol. Hopefully they get it together soon.

Thanks for all the responses! It seems that I'm not the only one that enjoyed it and looks forward to its return (to the way it was). Or at least better than staring at people at an AH.

Looking forward to flying through Vana'Diel again soon.

Yes, and pretty much. The population there is much less than a normal server.

It is a test server, That's why you see very little people and mobs all over, with no one to beat on em. Maybe soon we could a new server created. you have to wonder if some of the servers are hitting a full point? Maybe time for world shifts again?
