Don't forget Buburimu!

Everyone expects Dunes to be packed with all the new jobs, and they're certainly right, but ... to you blue mages: don't forget Buburimu! Not only is it a very comparable leveling spot to Valkurm (same gobs, crabs, same level pugs) but Healing Breeze is going to be an important skill and the only place to get it at level 16 is Tahrongi or Buburimu from dhalmels. While you're there, you can pick up Wild Oats and Headbutt, taught by Mandies in either area. There's also Crawlers in the area so you can get Cocoon.

Buburimu is one of my favorite spots when I can make a party with my friends and LS mates. It's like Valkurm, with arguably better mobs, and deserted <3. I second this motion, don't forget Buburimu!

I'd say just grab a high level friend to heal you and go pick on an EP version of the monster. I really love leveling in Bubuirum for the fact that...there's nobody there!

As I posted in the other thread, I think the blue mage headbutt is likely to be quadav, not mandy, headbutt. Otherwise this is good advice though. Bubu has been deserted for months, maybe years - the only people who go there are on their way to Onzozo or Bibiki (and soon, Aht Urhgan) - and all its mobs are going to waste.

This expansion may actualy revitalise buburimu as a decent lvling area compared to the dunes, expecialy since the dunes are offten crowded and your contiantly competting for mobs to kill.

This advice is even more important now that ToAU is active, as Valkurm Dunes Snippers are now an endangered species. I was trying unsuccessfully to xp in the dunes last night, and every time crabs spawned a horde of soloers descended on them looking for Crab Aprons. This was also true to a somewhat lesser extent for Damselflies.

I'm unfamiliar with what mobs are good choices for what party levels in other areas though, and I'll be searching for any advice more detailed than mob levels soon, but I figure I might bring that up as a useful matter to comment on in a thread like this.

EDIT: I don't recall for sure, but either Qufim Island or Buburimu has Snippers that drop Crab Aprons too.

Also note that you need ALL 6 subjob items to do the beginner's quest, not just one set.

According to somepage, the Crab Apron and Damselfly Worm are only dropped in Valkurm, whereas the Dhalmel Saliva and Wild Rabbit Tail are only dropped in Buburimu. The Skull and Robe can drop off Ghouls and Bogys in any number of zones.
