Hey all. Don't know if any of you remember me... after 2 months of quitting FFXI, I've begun to feel like playing again since the expansion is coming out. My question is about registering again. My original account is still frozen because I haven't paid for 6 months. Would it be wise to restart again or continue with my original? If I do continue, that's about $80 in unpaid bills to square and some part of me says to continue since I've spent so much time on it, but now I say I should start a new account. With that I wouldn't need to pay that $80 and I know more about FFXI since I began as a newbie.
Also, since my original account is still frozen, I am planning to buy another copy of FFXI for PS2. Do you think square will let me register if I still have an account on my system? I don't know if they check for ip addresses or anything I'd like to know if anyone has registered 2 different accounts on the same system before.
Well that's all from me. Thanks.

Good to see you wanting to come back...
Well it is not SO bad of an idea, but $80 is alot of debt... Buying the whole original + exp is only like 20 more extra... So this solution is viable, but the only thing is that you have to retrain from 1... >.<
I am sure they dun check for IP and stuff... You buy an extra copy that's money to them.

Well I found a FFXI original + expansion all in one package for PS2 for $73 .. which im still thinking about ordering. If I continued that's $80 + $45(expansion) then the monthly. Starting fresh.. $80 then monthly... square doesn't give the first month free anymore right? That was for FFXI's problems in the first month? Dammit, if only we can use the registration numbers again.. my ps2 is right in front of me..

Since you're a taru whm. If you want to keep playing a whm or mage class mainly, reactive your account. If you want to play a melee class now, then start a new account.
Personally I would just reactive and pay the 80 dollars. Not considering because you already have enough equips and cash on your old account. But the time that you spend on it. Im sure it worths more than the 80 dollars.
PS. Always good to have a whm that can tele around as well.

hey sharky its nice to know your coming back
you should try to get your old character back
the 80 dollars debt is better to pay anyways
since you had to pay it for the monthly fee anyways
also you played alot to get to your point
and starting over isnt that great
hope to see you again

If youre going to play whm, you might as well start a new account, since you can get to lv60 in a month, hehehe.

$80 is a lot of money! I would suggest just buying the expansoin and creating a new account, you will save a lot of money and leveling back up to 38 for you this time will be a lot easier and fun, good to have you back btw.

Dammit, 5 people for reactivating and 2 for new account. I think I'd rather start a new account even though I can get back my original account easily, but that $80 bucks is just shoving me away..
If I registered a new account, everything would be the same, but hopefully Sharkie isn't taken on Ragnarok. Don't know what has changed since I left but surely it can't be too different. Thanks guys.

Actually, if you think about it...
if you want a new account, you're gonna have to buy the full version of the game again, that plus the importing fees can cost near $80 on it's own. Since you should have paid for it anyways, i think it would only be the right (and logical) thing to do. Besides, it may very well take you 8 months ($80 dollars again) just to get back to where you were in the first place, so in the end you'll be paying more money to get to the same place (basically, your first CD + account + import fee is added onto the normal fee of starting [buying the game etc] and paying for a few months). Lets not forget that in terms of a monthly-fee game, time = money :p

This is really funny... Elite and I were talking about this exact subject ingame, ( Helping me with M7 ) and his response was that Sharky had grown out of FFXI. ^^ Glad to see you come back sharky!!! ^^;;; Missed you!
Hope to see you soon!!!

Sharky, when I saw your screenshots, it looked like you had only missed one month of payment. But because of the way the service is setup, you cannot pay for previous installments by credit card - so even now, if you wanted to settle the difference, you cannot do so by credit card. You have to pay at a convenience store in Japan.

I was actually there during this conversation. The only conclusion I can reach is a taru can't possibly out grow anything :p

Oh yeah Jonny. I remember you saying something about that.. but I really can't do anything now that you say I can't pay by credit card. Maybe if I could get someone in Japan to go to a convenience and pay for me? I don't really know anyone except Jonny in Japan, but hes got a wife and all. If there's anyone in Japan that can do this for me.. please let me know. If you have a paypal account, I can send money to you using that, or send an international money order by mail. If I really only missed a month or 2 of payments then I'd want my original account back otherwise starting over is my only choice. Thanks.

Yo sharky.
You gotta pay this (in person) in Japan it says. You have a ton of months overdue as well. You also need your bill when you go to pay it, the bill was sent to your address with which you registered. This is how squaresoft knows its really the account owner.

OK Sharky... it looks like 4 months have been missed - about 6000 yen. As Sheila said, they'll have already sent a bill to the original address you registered at. If that's a fake address, call them up and ask them to send a new bill to me. If you want me to help out, that is ;) Send me a mail and I'll give you my address. I'll let you know my paypal details too.
