just thought id throw an update in here on my current situation im currently lvl 13 in the dunes doing well have an awesome part im a blm and think of using rdm as sub also if anyone is looking for a linkshell just send me a message or /tell Glued im also part of a huge link shell the ides of march so if your intrested let me know

i could also use some constructive critisism on sub jobs for blm

Only 2 depending if you want to do a little melle or not you have either whm or rdm to compliment blm, personly if you like the mage role go whm as sub, you'll find you get parties a bit quicker as if the S hits the fan you can always cst a few low level cures, plus the extra enffebles help boost your enfeebling/magic damage role.

If you see Brickshouse or Mageof peace around say hi, cause it'll be me.

I subbed RDM from 30-50 BLM. It gave me INT, access to Warlock's Earring (MP while healing +1), Gravity, and Fast Cast. In my opinion, it is the best sub for BLM at those levels as long as you have a white mage or someone else with the -na spells.
After 50, RDM is still a feasible sub, but some parties will want you to use Ancient Magic, which takes forever to cast, to Magic Burst with (casting magic after a skillchain to deal lots of extra damage). Fast Cast really messes an AM MB up if it kicks in, so /WHM is safer for these parties. If AM goes off before the skillchain, then the monster doesn't die, comes over to kill you, and at least one melee probably loses their TP. However, after a while parties wise up to the fact that Ancient Magic is really very MP inefficient, and you can go back to subbing Red Mage.

White Mage gives you access to the -na spells, more curing magic sooner, and a tiny bit more MP. If your party has a RDM/BLM or something main healing, this is the better sub. Also, from 1-30, this is the sub you want because RDM only offers gimped cures, and you will definitely need to heal your party at low levels.

Summoner gives you auto-refresh, which is sort of useful, and gives you the most MP and INT of any sub. This sub is for when you are only a damage dealer. Personally, I think subbing SMN is a rather irresponsible move, because you're sacrificing the ability to save a party member's life for an extra 30 MP and a point or two of INT. All the MP and INT in the world isn't going to make your SAM like you any better when you're trying to explain to him that you couldn't save his life when the WHM ran out of MP because you like doing 2 more damage with your magic.
