RDM was not specifically the target of the job changes in this update, however we have nonetheless made some small gains that I'm quite happy about!!

1) Shield proc rate increase and dmg reduction from shield procs increased. SE wanted to give pld a small boost to dmg mitigation when using sword & shield. Kinda sweet since we often melee/solo using sword & shield or dagger & shield, even when /nin. I was fooling around hunting an NM last night and noticed my wimpy 92 skill shield proc'ing more than usual. :) Hard to see increased damage reduction from it with stoneskin up tho. :p

2) /pld now offers us:
Auto-Refresh @ lvl 70/35
Sheild Mastery @ lvl 50/25 (adds 4-5 tp when sheild procs)
In addition to the usual ex weapon skills such as Vorpal Blade, Flash, some extra mp compared to /war or /nin, def up trait (+22), sentinel, shield bash (the ghetto stun), and cover.

I also noticed my shield skill proccing lots last night as well. I'm going to solo EPs to get my shield skill up (it's nearing 100 for a level 50 :p ) just to keep it up to date.

As for the PLD being a subjob, you know, I saw many players last night jump on their PLD main or subbing PLD on their high main. I guess if anything, it has stirred up a lot of interest in the PLD job class. Kudos for SE for at least getting the marketing aspect done. Let's hope the changes actually makes a significant inroad with PLD job deficiencies...

Huzzah for that one. I'm actually tempted to level PLD now.
