WARNING: Do not download Mr._Argus.zip from geocities.

Ok, before a mod gives me a warning or deleets this post let me explain my self. One of my LinkShell mates recently saw a shout in Jeuno saying something like "Download Mr. Argus from EDITED URL OUT REGARDLESS for free!" (part of the address has been changed to prevent anyone to acdently downloading the file) my friend decided to check out the site to see if it was real. I am unsure about the exact details on how he checked it out but less then 24hrs latter he went to log on his alt. When he tryed to go back to his main, he realised that he could not access his account, and realised he has been hacked.
SE, as usaly, wont do nothing for various reasons. I have invistageated the file and found this from http://virusscan.jotti.org/

This file is heavely infected with Keylogers and backdoors.

I usaly wont post something like this on public but as of late this person has been shouting in jeuno with this website every few days and when I went to download it to scan it today I found that the bandwidth has been used. So, I am under the conclusion that several people have been downloading this and possibly being hacked.

Well deserved, that's what your friend gets for not only trying to download a bot but being stupid enough to follow that link. Someone should report this to POL though so they can do something about it if possible.

If I wanted people to diss my firend then I would have went to the BG fourms.

Also, Taskmage the geocities version is the one that has the virus. There are other sites, both JP and NA, that you can download it without the virus.

You come and create a thread about a virus infected cheat that your friend found, NOT accidentally, and you expect him not to be bashed? WHICH, he wasn't. A slight statement was made about getting what he deserved for attempting to cheat.

A friendly warning? There shouldn't have to be a warning to anyone because no one on these forums nor anywhere else should be trying to get hacks for FFXI.

At least the people who got their accounts stolen won't have the opportunity to ruin other people's gameplay experiences by using the program they just got. To be honest, this thread begs to be flamed.

No one here needs to be warned not to download this hack. I really thank you for your consideration, but please be aware that we do not allow discussion of hacks and illegal programs, and while it was not your intention, this thread can possibly raise more interest in programs like Mr. Argus.

Frankly, your friend should have been more careful, and neither of you should expect Square Enix to do anything. What did you say? "Help, my friend downloaded an illegal third-party application and his account was hacked by the guy who told me to download it. Please ban him for hacking!"

I'm gonna go ahead and close this thread before the inevitable happens.
