Final Fantasy XI Equations

[Tidane]

Variables
WD: Base damage of your WS
D: Base damage of your weapon (e.g., Espadon = 43)
ATK: Your attack rating.
EDEF: Enemies defense rating.
fSTR: difference between your STR and target's VIT
WSC: Secondary attribute like STR_30 (30% of your STR).
fTP: Multiplier (I'm sure someone has a link to the charts).
PDIF: (your ATK/target's DEF)

I'm making this post in hopes of making a list of all the equations that we know of (unless there is one that I missed, if so, please point me to it). I would also like the time period (if you have it) that the equation was tested (updates may have changed certain ones). Ones that I can think of, offhand are:


Melee Damage
Melee Damage = D * (ATK/EDEF) * fSTR + random(-.5 to +.5)

Phalnax Absorbtion = (Enhancing Magic / 10) - 2 (Apple Pie)

F1: ([Enhancing Magic Skill] / 3) + MND when X < 100
F2: {([Enhancing Magic Skill] / 3) + MND} * 2 - 60 when X = 100 - 150
F3: {([Enhancing Magic Skill] / 3) + MND} * 3 - 190 when X > 150
X = ([Enhancing Magic Skill] / 3) + MND + 20

Sneak/Trick Attack Modifer


In addition, any equipment that had been tested to give a certain amount of a hidden bonus (IE Magic Attack Bonus, Weaponskill Gorgets) would be helpful. If there are any other equations people are interested in or know, simply reply and I will add them to the list.

If anyone is willing to test these and post their results so I know which ones are correct and which ones are not, I would much appriciate it.

I used to use the search button, but eventually the endless arguement threads where what I was looking for would only be mentioned in passing got annoying. I tend to go to other forums now. I figured I would crosspost the topic here, in the even that someone who doesn't frequent one of the other FFXI sites had information.

As for the ones that have already been posted, I know. I have seen several of them before. Other than just the formulas, I was hoping for some discussion on them (well, mainly at KI). I also planned on searching for them again myself, but since I have been wanting these formulas (maybe a month), everytime I attempted to look for them, several things came up (that required my attention, outside of the game). I am sorry for trying to make things abit easier on myself and spread any information hidden in the nooks and crannies of the forums.

Again, I apologize, other than the fact that I do not visit that forum, I didn't believe that this would be considered fighting tactics. I consider it General Information about the game.
