I'm all set to kill the Dark Dragon and achieve rank 3, but after several hours of trying to form a party for this last night I'm running low on options.
I don't have a LS yet, and don't know many people. Although my friends' list is about 15, only one or two are usually on, and they're fairly high level people and often busy.
If anyone is interested in killing this dragon with me, please reply in this thread, with your character's name and I'll contact you - or you can just contact me, Zozor.
We can arrange a time that would be convenient for everyone.

Alas, I'm on a different server, but here are a few tips to bear in mind, before you tackle the Rank 3 dragon.
1. There is a level 25 cap for the mission which means that the highest anyone can be is 25 (make sure you have a 25+ job ready) and make sure that you buy pre-lvl 25 gear for the mission. (keep the gear, you'll need it for future rank 3 dragon missions)
2. It's imperative that you have a blm in your party. The main idea is to have the blm sleep the eye monster, while the rest of the party wails on the dragon, without having to worry about major aggro.
3. As long as you have a blm, whm, and a tank, anything besides that is arbitrary. I completed mine with only 2 other people in my party, so numbers aren't really that important.
Ok, that's all I'm saying. Hope you find someone here to help you, but if you can't just shout around in windy and people will usually come to help you.
Wiseman, I might be able to log in with Akemie tonight. Let me know which job you'd want: WHM, BLM, RDM. All are 25+ and I have proper equipment for the BC (Obviously, LOL)

Get an LS, one that wont mind doing the occasional favor for the newb player, Then get about 4 lvl 25 pepole to do it. 3 days ago i got 6 lvl 25's to beat it and it was over kill, the basic strategy is to sleep the dragon kill the eye then kill the dragon, all you need it a BLM WHM tank and a DD at lvl 25 andthing more than that is insurance incase something goes horrably wrong (which wont happen). Its a fun fight, maybe shout in jeuno and im sure a few pepole will wana do it or have sympathy lol.

I could help ^^; Of course I might be on Kawaineko or Kenzansu, depending on my mood lol. Kawaineko = 29 WAR/MNK and Kenzansu = 30 WHM/15 SMN
well...... dark dragon... which one is that for? ?_? Sandy 2-3 or Bastok 2-3? lol

I killed the dark dragon with the help of a few members of the LS - Freelancer
grats man. only 2 more ranks and you can fly te airships!

It took me a while to get rank 3 because it just seemed to be difficult to find people willing to do it. I think the higher rank missions are a little easier to find help for, but more difficult to actually accomplish once you have the party...

It depends on the ls, really. Are you in a ls? If not, you'll end up meeting people in parties, groups, etc. who would be willing to give you one. If the ls you're in right now isn't that active, just ask around for ls's and you'll find a niche. For me personally, I've been through a lot of crappy ls's and finally found "the one". Nice balance between roleplay and seriousness, as well as a nice balance of levels. Hope that helped.

Hey Wiseman, just message me if you need help with your missions and I'm online. I'm either on Aliza or Aeni, but mostly Aeni now. I think you're likely to have more enjoyment doing missions with like-level players, since having a 75 piggyback you through the game totally takes out the challenge. But if you're feeling frustrated because of a lack of geniune interest by the community in helping you, feel free to give me a /tell. I feel your pain, as I've had to endure several years of that BS, even when I was in an LS
