Lvl 1 naked race

Hey my guild is organising a Linkshell even were we have to run from Jeuno to Windurst as lvl 1 naked characters. Winner gets 1 million gil, and naturally I'd like to win it ;).

Now we can't warp, fly, ride a choco (lol do they get offended by calling them choco?), or have a higher lvl escort to err...clear the road.
Now what I was wondering is there any items/equipment/potions I may be able to use that could help me out. He never said we couldn't and the rules are set.
Keep in mind I am rank 1 with a total of 450k (hopefully 1.45m ^^)

Directions or fastest routes won't be helpful because as I said we have to pass through set checkpoints and we will all be in an alliance to be kept in check.

Just buy a stack of prism Powders and Silent oils. You can run past all the mobs np then.

There is also a few pieces of armour that increase your movement speed.

The only problem is it is a naked race. I assume that means no armor that can boost your speed.

from jeuno to windurst??..
tip 1
HP windurst, death warp..
tip 2
take some stacks silent oils and powders..
tip 3
run they way and stop your time (there are some faster ways in the canyons only known by poeple knowing what they do)
tip 4
using oils powders will take some seconds, maybe sometime walking around is faster..

remember gob aggro sight, walk behind them and hope the will not turn.

do you have to go only to windurst or a special place? there are npc teleporters in windurst :)

Thanks for the replies ^^, it's only naked concerning armour, he never said anything about items. I have actually found myself a potion that increases movement speed so I'll definately be getting me a few of those ;)

Our Linkshell leader has said we go to certain checkpoints that will be hard to get to, meaning high lvl aggro mobs to evade, so definately get those silent oils and prism powders. I was just wondering how much of an effect they had, like could you walk right up to a mob or is there a certain distance you still need to keep from it?

If you plan on using silent oils and such you might wanna ask your ls leader if it's ok first. The whole point of a 'naked' race is to see how far you can get at lvl 1 without any protection. The only gear that increases movement speed at lvl 1 is the nation aketons and they only work in their home cities anyway so it's not gear that will affect the race. But items like silent potions, prism powders and hermes quenchers (the increased movement speed item) may be considered cheating in the eyes of others.

All the lvl 1 armor in the world won't save you if a Raptor aggros you but using silent oils/powders will make aggro a non-factor. As first before you try and use those things.

If you really want to run through a zone naked as lv 1 then being a THF, NIN, SMN, RNG, or BST seem like the best jobs if you are deciding to avoid agro instead of concealing yourself.

Those jobs allow you to detect mobs within a certain range of yourself, it's pretty easy to find what aggro ranges are for mobs with sight aggro and sound aggro in those areas. They are quite Blind and Deaf compaired to mobs in other higher level zones that's for sure.

If you don't have one of those jobs at level 1 then you should see if they'll at least let you use those caps, get LS members to make or remake a mule with a gold worldpass so you can get those caps and then limit any job to lv. 1 more easily.

You know wear like 20 lv. 1 armor one on top of the other ;) , Yeah you'll have like a 60+ Defense rating from the body piece alone then >.>

i did this once, 10K bet with my friend, he ran next to me in his lvl60 gear, i walked off as lvl1..i got from all 3 cities to jeuno w/o aggro in bout 1/2hr :) 30K in th pocket XD its very easy, just check what aggro's in the area and plot an easy course simple 1mil

Our LS on Bahamut did this about a year ago...
'Cept we raced from Sandoria to Jeuno.

...People were really freaked out when they saw 20 nudes parading around Sandoria in a straight line. =P

The sad thing? Only 3 people actually finished the race without getting mauled.... I was among the three =p

The easyest race from jeuno to a starting city im my opinion would probably from bastok to jeuno because the only zone i had dificulty in was the one with the marsh, but on my first run to jeuno i keeped getting owned by the mobs in the last zone from windy.

My very first ls did this, except it was a race from Valkurm Dunes to Upper Jeuno. Actually everyone was doing great, up until we were almost at Battalia Downs xD tiger killed one, gob another...then in Battalia downs pretty much the same thing, everyone was getting mauled by gobs and tigers. Then when it was down to me and one other ls mate (the latter in front) a gob that had been zoned walked back and slaughtered my friend, and I was the victor xD fun stuff..

Lol, if your on Ragnarok just /tell Jaeda and I'll invite ya to my ls. The event is this Saturday so I'll be making another THF to be lvl 1 so I have Perfect Dodge.

Yeah my main worry is the first zone with all the lvl 30+ stuff outside of Jeuno but the way I see it is I was a lvl 20 THF and everything pretty much aggroed me and killed me so I would have about just as much chance as a lvl 1 lol.

I'll also have to remember to set my HP along the way just incase.

Lol it's not about amateur or not but the fun involved. Our ls is rather tight and our leader doesn't have a spare 10 million. Alot of our ls are newbies much like myself so it's just an opportunity to get some nice starting off gil. Personally, 1 million gil means a huge deal to me, it can mean decent equips all the way to 50 or so, or to have enough to start a craft which I've been dying to do...just got to win it.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if I found everyone became THF or PLD in the race, but as I said, lots are newbies so let's hope they don't figure it out ;).

Just run and know the basic areas where lots of mobs spawn (so you can avoid them).

Pffft sif, I'm talking little midget Taru's running naked through the fields :P, everyone knows Taru death is more funny, now imagine a hold field of them.

Yeah there has been an update, no items, no armour, no anything, just our weak vulnerable lvl 1 flesh against mobs that will no doubt hit us for 200+ damage.

Hrm I think there needs to be more player made events since all I have ever seen are naked races, chocobo races and gambling. We could do treasure hunts, hide and seek blah blah.
