Hey everyone, I was looking through some of these threads and a few people have said even after a long time of inactivity on their account they spoke to customer service and they were able to retrieve their account. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me anything else about this as I would LOVE to get my old character again.
Most jobs 40+ all crafts 60 BS was 80 something so it would be cool to get it again...

How long has your account been inactive? Also, if you just cancelled you Content ID's and not your POL account you may be able to get it back. However, I was inactive for about a year and a half and lost my 75 drg ; ;

It's been anywhere from 1 year to 1 year and 4 month, somewhere around there. GOD I hope they have my character still >_>

I was inactive for about about a year, installed, loged in, reactivated content IDs and to my relief and surprise my characters were still there, exactly as I left it. If you didn't delete them there's a high likelyhood that they're fine.

hehe maybe I am lucky. I'm very glad I reactivated though, never knew how much I really loved this game. And to see old faces just ecstatic to see me again was great. And all my friends that leant me stuff to get me off to a good restart in this horrible post WWII like economy was just great^^ Unfortunately I'm no logner leveling BST, one day I will finish it off. But right now I'm working on RDM^^
you can install just the POL, go to content ID and choose revive. If your character can still be revived, it will be listed in there.
It's free to use POL by the way :O

You can also do what I did, which was talk to an SE customer service rep to check if your characters are still on the content IDs. Only took about 10 minutes for him to tell me whether I was going to have to start anew or if I could continue with my well-leveled character.

Just to be sure ;P Ty!most likely not. you can go to the reactivate content id section to see what content ids you still have and what character is attached to them. as long as you don't complete the reactivation process, you shouldn't be charged.

Neighbor beat me to it as always. But like he said, you can access POL for free and go to reactivate Content ID which will show you if the character is still attached. Just don't complete the reactivation process to avoid any unwanted charges.

Just to make sure, if no content ID's show as avaible for REACTIVATION it means that they're gone forever. Is it like that?
I didn't delete my characters nor my content ids but I've been out from FFXI for a long time (summer 2004?).
Thank you again :)

yes, it usually means they are gone forever. However only POL support can truly tell you if that's the case or not.
