GP question

at the moment, i have 30k gp in cooking, but want to switch to woodworking GP, will i lose all my cooking GP if i switch to woodworking? or do i keep the cooking GP, but i start with 0wood GP, and if i ever switch back to cooking do i still have my 30k?
