Erm, Chrono? You can't start with a sub. And outside of WAR/WHM, melee/mage classes are generally not a great idea :sweat:

Dragoon/Paladin for me. See the 'Dragoon Sub Ability' thread for my reasons why.

Plan to start as WHM, level to 18, WAR/WHM to 30, PLD/WAR to however high is needed to get DRG, then DRG/PLD as far as I can stomach the game, which should be forever and a day.

Remember, you have to level a job before subbing it, unless of course you'd like your subjob to be at level 1 all the time ;) :spin:

I've always liked feline type races.. But I like playing male characters. (I'm a guy ;))
It's just my opinion that Square should have made male Mithras playable (same with female Galka)
since most players like having the choice. (Even if it requires a small story change) :sweat:

If I play a female Mithra everyone will think it's just for the eyecandy. :p

You guys do realize one thing:
if the NA version is the same as the JP version

THEN one
the starting classes that you can choose from are:
MNK
WAR
WHM
BLM
RDM
THF
then when you become lvl 30 you can do a quest to get:
BST
DRK
PLD
BRD
RNG
then at a lot higher level you need to do a quest to be able to obtain:
Samuri
Dragoon
Ninja
Summoner

just realize you need to choose one of the first 6 jobs then you can get advanced jobs then the expansion jobs (not until your a lot higher)
to obtain expansion jobs is a quest but how hard no one knows yet

lol its just a joke phrase about how bad the translation for that particular game was. The quote was really in the game, it was just so bad, lol. I think the game was Macross??? i dont know for sure myself.

Nadyxes: Yes I do realize I'll have to level the main available job first. I'm going WAR till LVL 30 with Dwim, then going to DRK. I might possibly just lvl all the other main jobs up a bit as well (like to LVL 10) if I'm really bored. LOL. My Mithra will probably start out as a WHM and then I'll go to BLM and BARD. Depending on the requirements for being a Summoner, I'd like to try that one out as an advanced. :thumbsup:

Fox: The game was for Sega Genesis and I believe it was called Zero Wing. "All Your Base Our Belong to Us" was actually a flash music video you could watch online, but I think it ceased to exist. It was quite funny. The game was just badly translated.

lol yeah thanks for clearing that up, I believe it was Zero Wing, that sounds familiar now. Which music video do you mean, i know ive seen the one from www.mortisland.com thats histerical (especially if your an 8-bit fan for the end)

For my first character I'll first pick Monk and Level it to 18
then do the sub-job quest and take Warrior and raise it to 15
take back Monk as a main and raise it to 30

After that I'll do the Dark Knight quest using my Monk/Warrior, using Warrior for the quest and then switch to Dark Knight as my main and Monk as my sub-job. I'll surely end up trying to level up all jobs though (later, after my main is high enough).

I've seen the notion of combining dragoon and paladin and this raises a question... if the dragoon is anything like the one in tactics, you're not going to get much dex or agi... ditto for paladin... couple that with being elvaan (low dex and sickeningly low agi) and won't that make it difficult to hit the target and well nigh impossible to avoid being hit? I haven't played the game yet, therefore cannot accurately assess the effect of abysmally low numbers in these two categories. Someone with more knowledge please help.

You do a quest at Level 18 to have the ability to have a sub-job and it can be any job then (except using two times the same one)

you can have a Basic/Basic, Basic/Advanced, Basic/Expansion, Advanced/Basic, Advanced/Advanced, Advanced/Expansion, Expansion/Basic, Expansion/Advanced, Expansion/Expansion for jobs
