Hi is it true that once you reach 60+ you cant in any other craft excpet fishing?

like say im 100 in cooking

and if i level to gs 60 it stops

and also if i go to 62 goldsmith cooking goes down to 98 and keeps doing that

then 64gs 96cook

does it relaly do that?

I havn't gotten to 60 yet in Cloth, but my understanding is this (ignor fishing, I don't know if it applies to that):

1: You may take all of your crafting skills to level 60.
2: Regardless of what guild/crafts you have, you can only have 40 levels total past Level 60 across all guilds.

So, you can have...

Cooking 100, 60 everything else
Cooking 90, Gold 65, Cloth 65, 60 everthing else
Cooking 70, Gold 70, Cloth 70, Wood 70, 60 everything else

So on and so forth.

Hope that clarifies.

As I understand it, that is how it works. Fishing is exempt from this limit.

I haven't spent all 40 of my post-60 points yet, so I can't test it, but as painful as it is to level even cooking in the late 90s, I don't know if I'd want to risk losing a skillpoint that cost millions of gil to make sure it works this way. ^^;

what sevenpointflaw said is correct. after getting everything to 60, you only have 40 points left to "use." Fishing is the exception. You can get fishing to 100 without affecting your 40 points.

I had 64 in cooking before I decided to take the guild test to achieve past 60 on smithing. The guide tells you that you will forfit the points past 60 if you decide to continue. I did and lost 4 points of cooking.

I think you can do it every 10 levels so that you don't lose those points when you switch your main guild.
