they are all over. you just need to keep clicking tab/keyboard_0 to find them.
for a detailed map, goto somepage.com/ffxi and goto the links section. you should be able to find all mining points for all mining zones!

consider buying yourself the field suit (or whatever that green suit is called) it will reduce break by a ton.

There is an interesting question i havent been able to find. The field gear says that it improves HELM results. Has anyone actually noticed an improvement? the only thing that I have been able to desern is that they help a ton with breaks. Is that what they ment by improve?

Yes, that is what they meant by improve. You break far fewer pickaxes/sickles/hatchets when wearing the appropriate field gear. (Four-month-old thread ftw.)
