Problem after update...

Hello everyone, thanks for checking my topic. Yesterday I logged on to PoL as usual, and updated my game with the new update without any problems at all (this was a first for me lol). However, it seems that that isn't entirely true anymore. Anyway, I was playing last night just fine no problems whatsoever and I logged out, closed out my PoL viewer etc. and logged off windows. I wake up the next morning (right now) and try to acces PoL to get on FFXI and check my AH sales, well seems like it won't allow me to. Everytime I enter my password, it logs me in, goes through the "Recieving Friend List Data" , "Checking Mail" etc stuff, then when it says Loading at the bottom of the screen, about to open the PoL main menu, a pop up window occurs. The window says "Playonline has had an error and needs to close... "Send error report" "Do not send error report" and the viewer crashes out. This is the first time this has happened to me. I checked all of my PoL files and am now checking the FFXI files. Has this Happened to anyone else? ( I am going to call Playonline later today if no one knows whats happening).

Hmm... I'm having problems too. Exactly the same thing happens. Log in seems to be going fine, then it closes.

it just happned to me and i thought i gotta reinstall ffxi now ><

i think its cause of the windurst maintance (thees one on my server)

i could play yesterdy after udpate and today all day but then this just came up ><

There was a windy maintenance on our server too, in windurst waters I think. That wouldnt explain why POL crashes though now, would it?

Umm... how? It is POL that is crashing, NOT FFXI. So any emergency maintenance carried out on FFXI will not have any effect on wether or not POL crashes.

Those 2 softwares are sepperate you know.. FFXI and POL Viewer. And Tetra Master as well. I hope they fix this QUICK.

Assuming it can be fixed... and we dont have to re install FFXI. They havent even acknowledged there is a problem on the playonline site yet...

Someone try to just Re-install POL.. I did Check Files though, 0 problems. I want to know whats causing it. :(

FFXI TSR Brendan: I'm sorry that you cannot log into the POL Viewer at this time. We are aware of this issue and currently investigating the causes of this error. Unfortunately, the causes are currently unknown, but we are continuing our investigation into this issue affecting many of our customers. We hope to have this issue resolved soon. i have the very ame problem, first i thought it is because i had some dat files swapped. but that wasnt the prop. i also havent load the upgrade yet.

You havent updated? Wow... SE have ballsed up on an entirely new level. Well, at least we now know they know of the problem and are working on it. Myguess is as it seems to crash as friendslist is downloading, theres a major mess up on the server their end somewhere, but this is just a total guess.

Yay, same here. Only time I get to play all week and this happens. So much for getting the patch. Maybe by next week S-E will have fixed this.

i was told that my POL don`t wanna load on too, and i have no update installed, so there seem to be a POL problem, i dunno if that has something to do with SE and ffxi update.

i eventually try to copy a pol.exe later when i`m home (and backup the old).

if i can get it to work i`ll let you know (in about 8 hours T.T)

Dont do that, it's problem their side. Just be patient and wait, there is nothing you can do to fix it.

Bugger all we can do about it, complaining between each other here wont help. S'pose we just gotta wait and find something to do till they decide to fix it.

God, SE, you do know how to get people pissed.YOU try being a developer charged with maintaining a software of this magnitude, or having any responsibility beyond what you are currently doing ("OHS TEH NEOS servar down me wan play plix /crie /wrist").
Bloody hell, it annoys the living shi'ite out of me when people act like crybabies because they have to take a 2h break from playing. Jobs, lives, hobbies...?

Im not kissing SE ass, Im not saying that such issues are OK, but Im saying that people shouldn't bitch about it after 5 minutes. They acknowledged and fixed the problem almost immediately, which in my book is good. Problems occur, shit happens. Their response times were pretty good, IMO.

They diddnt acknowledge anything was wrong for a good 2 hours... fixed it after another hour or so. IMO, they shoulda told us there was something wrong straight away...

I was just about to re-install FFXI, when I came and saw other people are having problems. I am glad I didn't do it.
