Hmm...Those look really awsome. But are those real? They look like they are likely photoshoped. I don't see anyway possible to do soemthing like that. As it would basicly require reprograming.
Its very cool though

somone in My LS forums posted this as well, it is real, but untill they make it shade better, I wont touch it :p
it's a JP windower feature. you can toggle it on and off anytime.
another cool feature it has is a wireframe display you can toggle on and off also. my friend use it to check mob's position behind doors and etc.

If it is jp windower, where can I get it? In all searches, all I find is the english windower.

No controls needed, the toon shader is a default option, nothing else is on as default except the toon shader. and to do like resolution and stuff its the same as the NA windower
how do you set this up?
the hook thingys, what paths do they need?
*i should have known that opening the read me in my japanese version of notepad *kinda japanese version* would leave me scratching my head

DL the zip file and unzip it into your Final Fantasy XI folder. your probobly gonna have to change some things in the "FFHook" Config settings. make sure everything reads as this
PolRegKey = SOFTWARE\PlayOnlineUS\InstallFolder
# for US client(?)
#PolRegKey = SOFTWARE\PlayOnlineUS\InstallFolder
PolRegValue = 1000
FFRegKey = SOFTWARE\PlayOnlineUS\SQUARE\FinalFantasyXI
FFWindowXValue = 0002
FFWindowYValue = 0003
You have to addthe US part im pretty sure
As for getting into the game, POL will work fine. Once you start the game up though it might be awhite screen. i fixed that by going to the FFXI congfig tool and putting it back onto the default settings for everything. i logged back in and everything worked.
it says pol cant find madchool.dll its a file in the extracted viewer, shoudl i plop into my pol folder?

It really doesn't look that impressive. Pixel cell shading looks a lot different, not just a black outline and a few more shadows.

Thank you for the compliments on my sig.:thumbsup: Yes, I did the work, but Im new at it, so I dont take requests yet.
Also, thank you Eriatarka for the windower link. Problem is though, I STILL cant get it to work. I started off by dl'n the zip file and unzipping it in the FFXI folder as mentioned. I then changed what needed to be changed in the FFHOOK config. At this point, I click on the windower. This message pops up:
pol.exe - Unable To Locate Component
~~This application has failed to start because MADCHOOK.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. [OK]
This confuses me because Im looking right at the file. Its right there...in the same folder. Where should I put it so it will be located?
I click 'Ok' and even though the message says "application has failed to start", after clicking 'Ok', POL starts. More confussion.
I continue and log in, just to see what happens. I click on the 'shortcut' just as you would do in the english windower. FFXI boots up and it isnt windowed.
I dont know, but maybe someone could help me here, but I cant try again until 6pm est, if all goes well with the update (Dec. 12th). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to the .ini file, and change the regkey to US (look a few posts above). That will solve that problem
i did thatm didont solve it for me T-T
The Don

I found out the problem.... and I feel ashamed for not knowing better.
Once you unzip the file, you will get a folder (most likely in japanese). That folder adds to the path. You cannot have that folder in the path (I knew better....). You only need what's inside of it. Take those files out of that folder and put them in the FFXI folder, change the regkey to US as mentioned above, and it should work without getting the error message.
I have yet to test it in-game because of the update. I post again if there are anymore problems.

Take those files out of that folder and put them in the FFXI folder,.
Which files exactly?
The Don

Which files exactly?
All of them. This is the easy way:
Unzip the file to your desktop. Once you unzip the file, you will have the "FFWindowerënÄa" folder. Now, in a seperate window, open up your FFXI folder; wherever you have it saved on your computer. With the FFXI folder open, switch back to the "FFWindowerënÄa" folder, select ALL the items in that folder (yes, all of them) and drag them over to the FFXI folder. Now, change your regkey in the .ini file to US as shown above.
Once you start the windower (FFHookLauncher), you shouldnt get anymore error messages. This is all in good faith that the windower will actually work. I have to wait until after the update to see if it works.

I have it working! But I'm very dissappointed. There is nothing that makes it look like the above pictures so either Im missing something, or it WAS photoshoped like someone has mentioned before.

Yes. Exactly.... Its actually a pretty decent windower though I got it solely for the toon shader. It does a few shade "things" (I lost screenshots) like:
1: Everything is white. I call it "The clay (http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a70/Knotes/Clay.jpg)".
2: Wireframe, which is 2 types; "Large (http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a70/Knotes/Large.jpg)" and "small (http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a70/Knotes/Small.jpg)".
3: Another one, which may actually be the Toon shader, but looks much differently. It makes everything, including the backgrounds, more polygonal with shadow (http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a70/Knotes/Polygonal.jpg) added onto the "shapes".
All three types can be mixed and matched. In other words, you can do 1 and 2 and both would show.
I dont know if I described it correctly. I should look for the screenshots.

See my earlier posts. When you unzip the file, you have to take EVERYTHING out of that japanese folder and put it into your FFXI folder. Dont put the japanese folder into the FFXI, but everything in it.
EDIT: Screenshots added. Click on links. Also, for some reason, "The Clay" screenshot quality is NASTY...no matter WHAT I did to fix it....

Nah that wasn't the problem. The latest download didn't include some of the files from the older version. Downloaded an older version and I'm gonna test it later
