This is for anyone who is planning on camping leaping lizzy for money.
YOU CANT!!!!! argh i log on today and try to get lizzy. some guy gets bounding boots and hes like WTF IS THIS?? another person, someone in my LS said he was gonna go camp him, he needed some gil, i was like wtf. the same day in bastok i heard some guy asking how for how much leaping boots go for in jeuno cause he was thinking about getting them off lizzy and selling them. once again, WTF
Leaping Lizzy does NOT DROP leaping boots, but an EX item that you cant trade or sell, but has the same stats!!! i cant stand how many people still think lizzy drops leaping boots. its astonishing how much attention people pay to whats going on in the game around them. all i want are bounding boots for me thf, and half the people camping then dont even know that they cant sell them. this is outrageous. IM UPSET. not because people are camping lizzy, but people who dont even want the drop are camping it and they dont even know it.this should be common knowledge by now.

... or at least from what i've heard

im almost possitive to the 6th power that its only in BCNM. what a cheesy line..

hmm.. you may be right somepage and alla lists leaping boots as only a BCNM drop. my ls was saying that it was a really rare drop, but it could still drop off leaping lizzy. not sure anymore again x]

one thing you have to keep in mind, the whole reason for that patch was to stop gil sellers from monopolizing certain drops ( leaping boots, hairpin, archers rings etc.) if lizzy still dropped it what would be the point of the patch?

It doesn't drop leaping boots. It drops a rare/ex version called bounding boots. Same stats but non-tradeable/sellable.

this is what gets me.. x1ang seems like a decent guy and a well rounded player who uses his recourses well ( checked somepage and everything ) and wasnt sure about it. Its not like its a thing where its just noobs. even people who are great players and browse forums all the time still dont know >_< just so frustrating for me
Double Post Edited:
POL should have a thing you can read on the download screen that tellls you exactly whats being updated, right there on the download screen. alot of people dont feel like going all over the place, would be a nice feature
the drop was changed back a couple updates before. To counter the monopolizers (botters)

Ooo i got tricked... gonna have to have a word with some people hehe ^_^
I feel your pain eriaka ... I saw this JP player camping VE and full on God Gear (75 MNK) ... some NA player got claim of VE and celebrated drop. JP player then thought player was going to sell ... when he checked the player and saw that it was rare/ex, he was shocked.
So it's not just NA players ... JP players as well.

another thing i forgot to mention is that i also really hate people who camp WITH EFFING boots on... thats not too common though. i usualy ask if ther ecamping with anyone and if they say no i have to explain to them how the whole rare thing works and i tell them to put it in their mog... now though its not a big deal for lizzy ^_^;

if you already have the leaping boots, you can camp lizzy for the bounding ones and sell your old leaping boots. that may be what your ls friend meant when he said he would go camp lizzy fo gil

Leaping+Bounding boots are so over-rated to begin with >.>
I'll only use it on a THF but I'll rather not waste my time camping a rare/ex item (or even the over-priced leaping) for a mediocre at best stat boots.

Leaping/Bounding Boots do give good stats for it's level, but yeah they're over rated terribly.
The damn things are current 1.8 mil on the Jueno AH in Kujata. That is entirely too much.
over-rated or not, it is the only foot gear that gives you 3dex 3agi for well over 60 levels. Actually, I don't think no other boots give this same stat at all. So depends, if you want dex and agi then it is the only boot choice you can use for a long long time. not counting wing boots which needs leaping boots to make anyway.
I personally think it is still an excellent boots for thf and rng. It seems popular among other DD too but for me it's not that important in this case.

I liked them for DRG as well.

You can look at the boots at a small stat increase, wich they do give, but a nother increase they give is a huge invite boost. If people know you have better gear than the other thf LFG who dosent have any boots your gonna get the invite. It could make the difference between partying all day and not getting a party at all... if theres always you up against a thf with the boots than hes gonna get the invite and your just gonna be waiting longer

I'm glad they made this change. Less competition from gil sellers.

What a noob thread
As for this thread sorry to say but since the update there was and still seems to be confusion on how the 3 items (Leaping Boots, Emeperor's Hairpin, and Pecock Charm) were moved to BCNM only and the 3 original NM no longer drop those instead it is a no-trade, no-sale item with same stats (Bounding Boots, Empress Hairpin, and Pecock Amulet).
This change is even mentioned in the current update of methods they tried to reduce MPK, but removing RARE drops and replacing with RARE/EX only.

from another thread:
your playgirl sig made my eyes bleed
and I'm in complete agreeance. Please either change it or remove it. Would save my eyes from the pain they're going through from it =/

I know sure as hell that's not true. I had full HQ excellent armor on my PLD, yet other PLDs who had garbage gear kept getting invited before me. People can't see your gear when they use /sea.

of course they wont know if you dont see it, but if you put like what you have in your search comment thats the only way they'll see, so im sure as hell it does work, if they know you have better gear than the other PLDs working, you just have to let them know via search comment

Of course mine was an example, but btw I DID put it in my /sea comment. I put "Excellent Gear" and "HQ Gear" and "High Defense Gear" etc. Still saw other PLDs get invited before me.
Also on BLM I put "All spells including Quake, Flare, Sleepga II" and stuff like that and other BLMs still got invite over me for hours, and out of most of the BLMs I PT'd with in Manaburns or just multi-BLM PTs, very few actually had those spells.

you have to keep in mind theres still a bunch of other factors. Maby the BLMS that got invited before you knew the leaders ona personel level. If i had a friend seeking and ther were other BLMs lfg, id pick him. remember ... TONS of factors... maby some people think your a gil seller.. someone thought i was and they lefta group refusing to level with me >_<

That is where you messed up. Don't just put "Excellent Gear." That doesn't mean crap. You need to list your most pimp gear out. When I FLP with my lvl 62 monk here is my comment:
@XXXXtnl English Japanese ok
Scorpion Harness Cross Counters
Ochiudo's Kote Kung Fu Shoes
I've never had trouble getting invites with that /sea comment ^^.

I love those kinds of search comments. I'd rather have someone "bragging" like that instead of @##### only.
In regards to the thread. Some people on my server actually camped the rare/ex and sell them when they get the drop for a little less than the AH-able versions. It's pretty ridiculous but I think they've stopped now.
Leaping Boots though are hands down the best foot gear for melee for a long time. Till Centurion gear and the mid 40's do melee get good feet excepting RSE. Whenever I take a random melee through the Valkurm levels I put my pair on and eat Chiefkabobs. The dmg is ridiculous. :)

There are better options around mid 20s and 30s though. Some of the RSE feet armor, Federation kyahan for Sam and nin, the kampfschuhs for tanking, etc.
Leaping/bounding is definetly good for the lvl, but I only find it good for THF and *maybe RNGs.
