Graphic Card "Port"

I was wondering if I have a place to put a graphics card, cuz my friend told me that you cant put graphics cards in some computers....because they dont have a place to put them. So I want to know if I CAN...I dont want to end up spending all this money on FFXI and then find out I cant play. My computer is a: hp pavilion mx70 (thats what it says on the monitor). And on the tower it says: hp pavilion xt938. I dont know if you could find out for me, but I would really appreciate it. Thanks :)

And another question: What is a GOLD worldpass?

And ANOTHER question, lol: What kind of names are you suppose to pick for in-game? Could I pick a name like I use on here (MusicFreak247), or an ACTUAL name. And if you can use either...which one SHOULD you use? (preferably)

ok let me answer ur first question for u personaly i dont recomend buyin a new graphics card just buy the game and run it if wen u first play it u get a message saying hardware tnl could not be reconised (cuz thats really the only thing buyin a new card will give u) u can download a free program called 3d analyzer which emulanates hardware tnl so u save some money.
i dont no wot a gold pass is either lol.
You cannot have special charcters or numbers in ur name on the game u have to have a real name.

From Hp web site your computer doesn't have a AGP slot.
So you need to find a PCI video card to run FFXI.

What? Im confused...you just gave me a site to graphic cards. Ugh...the card I was going to get was the "NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 256 MB". Can somebody who knows a lot about computers explain this to me, and tell me if I can or cannot this card into my computer.

nope the 3d analyzer is really gd my 3d analzer makes my game run really smoth just like i had the card so no need to b disaponted it u can get the graphics with out spendin the cash

if your integrated graphics card happens to have that specific problem, you should get a card when you can. All that will do is make your computer Think your card can do TNL caps or w/e they are, and you might get graphical errors and oddities and such when playing. just remember thats a very specific problem, your integrated graphics card might have it. also the graphics card isnt the only thing that matters, dont forget about ram and your processor ^_^

about the gold world pass, thats for if you have a friend whos playing, he gives you a code and you enter that at character creation and you can play on the same server as him, he benifits from this in the way of free items ... more items the longer you stay. Im not sure if you get free items to though :( most likely

a regular world pass just lets you choose what server you want.. no free stuff


and no you cant make your name musikfreak247 or anything like that... first off, no numbers. second, people wont care all to much about your ingame name. once you log in youll see what kind of names people pick, pretty much w/e you want, make sure its nothing you'll regret though.... in game, people always think im a girl until they see me :(

Okay...I need instructions for this 3D Analyzer. I have no idea what "tnl" means (besides "to next level" and I dont think thats what you mean)..and I dont know any other computer terms...so WINGxx, could you give me the exact instructions (so I can understand)?

Also...could you explain (so I can understand) what this 3D Analyzer is actually doing...I mean it must be prettty awesome if its just as good as a graphics card, but is free.

basicly the 3d analyzer makes ur pc think u have the hardware u need to run it and pretty much then makes it run it DOESNOT slow the graphics down have some ppl have said i actually dont no wot tnl means bur i can tell u step by step wot to do do .
1.open the 3d analyzer that u just downloaded in winrar or winzip
2.were it says select file path cluick it go like this mycomputer>c>program files>playonline>square enix>play online viewer>pol
3.after that has bein chossen its time to tell 3d anayser wot u want emuantaing(tricking ur computer wot u want)then u click the white boxes next to theses things emulantae hrd tnl emulante software tnl and emulantae cube maps
4.once done click save batch file at bottem and save as pol
5.click run and start game as normal if it still dont work then tell me i have a difrent version of it that does work cuz the current 1 some times does not work

Can you give me the site for the version you have because Im not getting FFXI until Christmas. But just in case this one doesnt work, it would be great to have the back-up that for sure works. And also please include the instructions on how to use it like you did for the other one.

And also, could you tell me how old YOUR computer is, and what kind you have, and your speed, and memory, etc. because if yours is older or about the same as mine, and FFXI works great for you, then that'll give me hope that it'll probably work good on my computer too.
