ok.. so yea. sence FFXI is comming out for xbox 360.. do u think maybe around that time they will allow us to talk to each other with mic's? like in WoW. how you can talk with your party..


i think that will be pritty cool if they allow us to do something like that.

idk .. just wondering.

It's already confirmed that Square Enix has not allowed voice-chat in the Xbox 360 version of the game. Their reasoning is that it would become much too hard to manage abuse, cheating, etc. if players were able to use voice chat.

on the game end it will be difficult to achieve this for any game out there, but most guilds in games like eq, eq2 and WoW use a voice chat program like teamspeak or ventrillo.
That will be very difficult in this game too because of the number of players using PS2's.

Yeah, could you imagine Lower Jeuno and /shout with Voice Chat. {No thanks.}

There have been a number of "MMO" game experts who have spoke out against voice chat in MMORPGs. Personally I would be against it. I mean people annoy me with just chat, compound that with voice.... :(

No voice chat option on any console version of FFXI. If you want that option, opt for the PC version instead and return your Xbox360. Then find a Ventrillo or Teamspeak server to connect to and you can chat and play the game with your peers.

there is also an immersion issuie here as well, in eq2 I had a guildmate who refused to use voicechat because it killed the whole roleplaying thing for him, and I don't blame him, we play to get away from it all really, some people like it some don't.
if you want to get lost in a fantasy world with no ties to the real world, then voice chat is not an option, just my 2 gil on th e subject.
but if endgame is the goal, its something that is very valuable, and makes coordination of raids go smoothly, considering people shut up and listen to the tactical commander ^_^
