Hey peeps been reading ur threads about smn and others in general skill lving and i thought i contribute my way of lving it up if you have others post them here as well to take SOME pain away se has placed on bringing up teh skill
What I do:
Grab some stuff i need to sell from mog since ah is full and i bazaar it in front of a popular area ie west ronafure jueno
Start casting those avatars!
Also i help out the noobs mainly in west ron with aggro control or scare the wits out off them by summoning carbuncle shiva or ramuh^^ "Omfg its Ramuh! zone!" XD good times^^
well thats my 2 cents if it helps
offhand: how do i put screenshots on here i got registered into photobucket but i idk which files to search for it to browse in when i go through my documents what is it called? thx

wow.... ummm..... k?
eh... yea.... ok
My SMN is still Lv.1. I haven't gained a single poing of EXP, but I did go out in to Battalia one night before I went to bed, and kept casting Carbuncle. I got to Skill Lv.1. lol
I now have Garuda, Titan, and Leviathan. So I'm going to do Shiva and Ifrit soon. Once I actually have Fenrir, I'll level SMN. Maybe by the time I actually level it, I will have cap'd my SMN Magic! lol Though I don't know if I could just cast ,and cast like that after each level. I wish they could level while they were out and meleeing. Kinda like a weapon. But oh well.

Well fun.. but I just level my summoning skill while I exp. Untill level 10 it wont make a big difference I think, and after level 10 you just keep recasting and recasting during downtimes in parties.. Besides, if you keep switching avatar every 5 seconds in Valkurm Dunes, I dont think any of the noobs would care :p

I remember at lvl10 I capped it but then got tired of it so just depended on lvling it while in exp pties to. Now 53smn with 106skill. No big diff.

And also, leveling its skill during quests, waiting for party invites, party members etc etc.. If youre really going for Smn, you will probably have it as main job all the time and you have enough oppertunities to level the skill.. unless you do nothing but hanging around in Lower Jeuno all the time :P

I usually don't worry about lvling the skill, i just let it go up as i do stuff.
I do sometimes start randomly casting my avatars though when i'm in a pt and we're like waiting for someone, but it's not on the top of my priority list.
Bit of a dumb question here but what effect does lvling the skill actually do?
I heard that all it does is increase the chance that the spirits cast spells, or something along those lines.

The only approved info about smn skill is from se and it says that it decreases interruption rate when casting them and something else but i cant remember atm does anyone know how to put screenshots onto websites
I still maintain that SMN Skill effects SMN debuffs and nuking damage. Sleepga from Shiva will most likely be effected by this. Elemental spells will be effected by this. I wonder is Titan's Stoneskin effected by that skill as well, just like Enhancing skill effects Stoneskin. Or with Ramuh's Enthunderaga (lol) dealing more damage.
However this is just what I think. As you see in my signature I'm still SMN1 with out having gained a single EXP! I still need 4 Avatars before I will level it!

bazaar full and cast in rolanberry fields
or my personal favorite, bazaar full of jug pets and park in zerhum mines by the bridge. i've been surprised to see how those beastmasters buy them up in a hurry.
