is the private beach a good place to lvl? I've heard that it is but I don't get very good exp from it.

Exp starts to wind down in the dunes once you get to level 18. At that point, the most you can hope to do is get exp by chaining mobs quickly. That will usually net you a decent exp rate. At that level in the dunes I took on gobs exclusively with mixed results.

Korrokola Tunnel is a much better place for exp at that level. There is also a decent beetle camp outside of Sauromungue Champlain, but it's hard getting people to leave the dunes to go to either of those places.

Also are you taking on pugs at the secret beach? Try for pugs and gobs if you're not already. The only reason people say it's a good camp is because not many people go there usually, so a party has the mobs there all to themselves.
