Does FFXI gold collection disc have updated patch?

Hi, i just did a re-install of my old FFXI game CDs I bought a few years ago. I just bought the new vanadiel collection disc with all expansions on it... Does it have the latest patches since it was made already in it? I'm asking because i have to download every patch since the game came out on my old version and its taking forever... Like 6800 files.

Would it be more worth it to buy a new DVD ROM and patch from the new disc?

it has it up to July iirc. However, you still have a lot of files to download after that (took me 1.5+hrs on cable).

Sounds a hell of a lot better than downloading them all from the beginning... I'm already at 12 hours and only at 7 % lol. Its true though that if i re-installed the game from the beginning with the original game disc from like 2003 that i would have to install all patches since then right? Thanks.

if the taru's correct in assessment then that's correct, but since they beat my reply, I can't be a smart#$% and shock you w/ my preferred response :p

but the taru's usually correct in things regarding ffxi ;)
