New FFXI CD won't even spin to load..

I recently uninstalled an old version of just FFXI original and Rise of Zilart.. now i bought the gold version of FFXI Vanadiel Collection with all expansions. I put it in my CD ROM and it doesn't even spin.. its like windows doesn't even know its there. I tested the old playonline disc from my other FFXI version and it loads up just fine. What is going wrong??

Vana'diel Collection is a DVD-ROM, not a CD-ROM. You'll need to have a DVD-ROM drive to read it. A CD-ROM drive can't do anything with it.

Best bet is just to invest in a better drive. Hyper Microsystems had some decent deals on Pioneer DVD burners last I checked. If you do go after a DVD burner, I recommend you avoid Sony. I have a Sony DRU-510A that was crippled by a firmware upgrade and now can't even use video DVDs at all, and others have complained about the drive dying on them after a short time.
