Vana'diel Bench

I just found out I cannot use AGP on my computer becuase it only has PCI Slots :(. I ran the third vana'diel bench anyway, and got a 2826-L and 1800-H. The high resolution looked awesome to me. I have a P4 3.06 ghz, 528 ram + no graphic card. will i still be able to run FFXI w/o graphics card?

Also, If i liked the way the high res mode looked, and i buy ffxi, will it look the same as in the bench? or am i SOL? thanks so much!

iirc 1800 is easy prey score. that'll mean you'll get quite a bit of lag and stutter in many places where there are a lot of models and effects going off (combat, jeuno, near 3 cities' AHs). otherwise, it should be playable and it should look the same.

btw "high res" mode is 1024X768

Thanks for answering, i just need help with what you said. I don't have a graphics card, but it still gave me 2826-l and 1792-H , so no matter what , can i still play FFXI without a graphics card? and last question, i think...lol: I viewed it in High Resolution mode, will FFXI look like it did in HR mode when i buy the actual game??

Only in one part, in the beginning when there are tons of taru taru's did it get slow. Thanks A LOT!

your integrated graphics card is apparently good enough so that you can "play" the game. however, the quality of your play experience (e.g. framerate) is suspect. you might find it ok, but when I ran it on my gf4mx it bugged me to no end (had to bring res down to 800x600).

maybe. that depends on what you didn't like about the PS2 version.

i've never played on PS2 so I can't make that comparison. since you have, you should be able to judge better than me.

Visually better, yes....but for me, I think PS2 loads things much faster than PC. I've never been beaten to an NM spawn, because PS2 loads the packets faster (IMO). People used to complain that I was botting because I'd claim the mob before it popped on their screen (before the patch fix for that)...But when I looked, the mob popped yellow, and could be claimed by anyone.

here's a weird thing too. The second bench won't work for me, and the "demonstration section of the third doesn't work either, but the benchmark does. Is that ok?

Im on PS2 and i think the graphics looks fine. Tho, I have a crystal TV. I do sometimes have to use some filters cuz of peoples dont know how to cast magic outside of AH areas.. -.- Anyways...

I have a GeforceMX (PCI i believe) it works great. I run it 1024x768 w/ full detail. Works great in all zones except 2. I'll Leave you to guess which 2 those are ;)
