Text editting

Some DATs are textures...others are models.

Yet some DAT files contain text. How does one modify the text?

Why would you want to do that? o_O

Well it's more so for novelty than anything else. Like renaming some of the weapon skills or spells. I'd also like to change my Black Magic menu to an unofficial JPN button and rename all the spells things like "Get Stronger", "Claim NM", "Make Gil", "Get Rare Item", etc.

It can be done I would guess...Look for the files with FFXItool. You can change the cursor and stuff too.

yes, it could be done. I had a JP software to change it before but I forgot where I found it. Someone may be able to help me out.
