View Full Version : Rendering, exactly what is it?

Today is my first day on these boards, as I'm sorta craving a way to customize my FFXI so I can get a nice little change. I've posted a few times, and this will be my last time today, just to avoid spamming I guess.

So yeah, what exactly is rendering? All I know is that it ends with breath taking shots of very nice, smooth, highly detailed objects. I want so badly to get a "rendered" picture of a couple sets of armor/poses, but I would have no idea where to start, and it's probably not easy.

Thanks for clearing that up for me ^_^ I have been using the model viewer for ages, dreaming about the days I'll be able to wear the awesome armor I'd put myself in and such, and I tried a while back to do some light .dat editing. I did the switching .dat files thing easily, but I even tried doing some work with custom skinning. I modded the male elvaan face to have dark red eyes and blood red tear lines, and I messed around with the elvaan RSE pants because I was using them as DRK and they were getting annoying to look at.
