Hello I'd like to know how i can edit .dats in order to edit the text from the dialogs.

no i mean translate NPC dialogs in spanish :)

You might want to take a look at this post: http://www.ffxionline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46913
It tells how people can change files so that NPC text will show up while useing the JP POL. Might have some information that you'r looking for, at least the locations for all the NPC text data.

No, they just replace jap dat for english dats so they appear tranlated. I'd like to directly edit a dat as a text
