My duo partner and I are almost Lv.64. We were thinking of having one person sub RDM just for Dispel.

Does anyone have any experience with RDM sub? I'm afraid that subbing RDM might be useless since he would have half the enfeebling skill that he would need to successfully dispel the mob's buffs. Is dispel resisted often when you sub RDM? If it works 50% of the time, it still might be worth it for us to have him sub RDM.

Thanks.

it works even as a /rdm.

We had a galka bst/rdm successfully land dispel 3 out of 5 times before on VT/IT mobs with no staff or int gear on at all.

Good to know.. I was browsing Allakhazam forums and read a post that dispel had results similar to your experience.

Having dispel will be nice..

=== Be Warned ===

Dispel has quite the hate spike atached to it. Your pet may or may not have adequate hate on it, before you try and dispell that def. boost.

I was pt'd with a bst/whm (as rdm/blm), and i tried to dispel a crabs def. boosts. Needles to say, i'll never do that again. I had to stand there, taking a beating, till the pet gained hate back. Had to run way the f'k out of the area, to cure/buff myself.

You gonna be better off just casting Dia, and letting your pet wail away.

Dispel really isn't all that needed at the point you're at... You don't need to get rid of eva boost or def boost on anything that you'd be fighting from 66+

Goodluck~

I subbed /rdm with my beastmaster all the way to 43 (I stopped to level white mage for cure III ^^;). It's a great sub, I couldnt tell any difference in downtime. I had about 10 less MP with rdm sub than whm sub at around 40. I really liked the -en spells, even though they werent as helpful as I thought they would be. I have 2 friends that I duo off/on with, if I take beastmaster past 60 I think I might level my red mage so I can sub that in duo/trio :).

Whaaaa? Dispels can be resisted based on skill. With your skills capped in half, wouldn't it just be resisted more often then not?

Since I don't have a bst, no clue on dispeling T-VT.

Subbed dispel only works against spell-activated buffs like Blaze Spikes, or versus enemies that are weak to Dark magic. You'll got lots of resists on anything else.
