All right, this may be the world's DUMBEST question, but I'm going to ask it anyway.

Are there ANY halfway decent pants that SMNs can equip, which are readily accessible for someone willing to scrounge up the gil for it but who does not belong to an HNM LS? My SMN is lvl 67, and although I've abandoned every single other piece of my AF for better stuff, I'm still using my AF pants. Don't get me wrong, they look cool, but it sure would be nice to think that I could get something better at some point.

I don't HNM, and I don't dynamis. It's not that I have a moral objection to it or anything weird like that, I just don't have fun with that kind of thing and I don't do it. I've done dynamis twice, as my RDM, and I hated it. I did the HNM thing for a period of time, again, as my RDM, and I hated it. I have a lot more fun in the game doing a number of other things. So in short, AF2 pants and Zenith pants are kind of unreachable for me. Errant pants don't do anything useful for SMN, so it's not like I can "look forward" to swapping to those butt-ugly things in the future. Austere/Pennance pants really don't do anything helpful either. I considered going for frog trousers but um.. Well, they're kind of low level and they only do 5 more MP than AF, so I failed to see the point in spending hours hunting them.

Any thoughts? Am I just royally screwed and stuck with AF forever?

Well you knocked out most of the ones I Saw that are good for SMN. The only one I found I don't think you mentioned are Evoker's Spats (AF1 I believe) which gives you something for SMN and it's defense is around that similar generalish defense of the others.

Oh, apparently that's what you are trying to change out of huh? Well I couldn't find anything good I could say.

All I can say is probably sit in Windurst next to the Trail Markings and see if there is a group going for Dynamis that might invite you? See if they'd let you get the AF2 pants there???

AF1 pants are the best leg item a smn can wear.
They have accuracy+, AF2 pants dont, AF1 pants win.

heyo Shamr what gryff says is true I refuse to wear my AF2 pants simply because AF1 kills em.

I can deal with an extra 2 seconds, really I can.

But I generally never Take of my RSE pants, All the BCNM's I do I can wear them.
I have all mage jobs 35+ So i can wear them.

As far as good pants depends on the type of SMN I guess.
Since Im a MP whore I like the boosts I get from RSE pants and macro into AF1 pants when I need to increase attacks for MBs and Renkei.

Thats pretty much it, Ill probably go down with my RSE pants on hehe.

Bah.. I guess my real problem is storage constraints. See, I threw away my RDM AF boots months before the introduction of this new AF storing NPC, and it's my understanding that to re-acquire the boots, I need to throw out all my RDM AF, which I don't particularly want to do. And now I'm stuck with 4 pieces of SMN AF I don't use but don't want to throw out either. I guess I'll buy some more cabinets and call it a day ><;

thats pretty much what I do, Except I use Pots, that way i can get some use from storage and the pots. I grow the colored rocks and items for food.

You don't need to throw it out. I threw away my BRD boots ages ago, so I deleted my BRD AF memory with the NPC and did AF1 (in the way of AF2) and AF2 again to store the full set away. You do need to throw AF1 away however.

Awesome. Oh, AF1? I threw that away so long ago it's not even funny heh. OK, evidently I've been severely misinformed or I severely misunderstood things I read. I could believe either way^^

Would still be nice to be able to use the NPC to store my SMN AF but meh.. Mog storage works I suppose.
