I mad ethis thread just to show the people who misunderstand the usage of Astral Flow with Searing light. Alot of people (inlcuding myself a while ago) thin it will be really hard since you have 3 Minutes to do Searing Light. People think u will have to wait 3 min all together and must be really really quick...matter of fact you dont have to wait for the first Searing Light 1 min, right? wich means you have to wait all in all just 2 Minutes.. so you will have like 1 minute to trigger the 3. Searing Light.

If you can get BP reduced to 43 seconds you can Astral Flow 4 times. Too bad thats not possible with the current gear. >.>

what about through the use of Metit Points?? Cant you reduce the Blood Pact "cool down" enough, that with the Auestre set, you can get down to ~43 seconds?

I dont have any numbers in front of me, so its hard to count, but it might work for End Game SMN.

sadly you cant reduce the blood pact timer with the uses of merit points :(

Um... That Sucks.

You can reduce Covert, Meditate, as well as various other timers, so why not Blood Pacts?

because there's items and equipment that reduce the bloodpact timer but not others?

having bloodpacts the way it is setup on top of merit points lowering it further would make summoners too powerful.

If they can split the offensive and defensive bloodpacts up into 2 different timers it'd be more interesting to play smn rather than...

1) buff/attack
2) scratch ass for 55 seconds or heal if you're healer.
3) repeat.

I completely agree. Even with -1 second recast on blood pact per merit, -5 seconds would be a good chunk when added with SMN AF2.

Although, MP would start to be an issue with that low of a blood pact timer, it's definately not enough of a drawback to counter the damage you could do without fear of death. And it would be easily fixable by keeping refresh+ballad on the SMN, or just cycling them if you have enough.

I see now where you come from. Between the SAM AF Helm that "Enhances Meditate" and the "BP -x" from the SMN gear, im just waiting for the "Enhances Refresh" gear, that give +5 or +6mp/tick (when you cast refresh, either self only, or pt). The AF hat only "gives" refresh...
