Is it true that Migardsormr and Ragnarok were pretty bad servers to join?(bad as in many bots, spam,etc..)

I heard this somewhere and I wanted to know what people on the servers have to say about it.

You fooled us all.

Just join a server and stick with it, they're all basicly the same.

i just heard, before i was going to leave, that Ramuh was one of the best servers i could have since its very low on everything midgard and ragna are high on. And yes justin, ive already told people i was making a new account and i suggest you do to because you need to learn to spell your name right. Yes, it looks retarded and im not trying to flame you.

That's how you respond to people who answered your thread huh? Making unnecessary enemies already.

90% of the fun factor of FFXI is the community. Making friends, meeting people, build up good relations and helping each other out. Unless you change your attitude you'll never find a "good" server.

I think the problems are pretty wide spread on most servers. I have heard instances where prices were lower on others but that fluctuates. Whats low one day may soon be high another. Of course, the larger servers have more people so therefore more spam, bots, and more greed, which could mean higher prices. But more people means a better chance of people being on when you want to pt. So there are trade offs. If your unhappy with your server then trying another may help but you'll always run into issues. I have different characters on different servers and while I might enjoy somethings on one and not the other, there are still things I don't enjoy. Good luck!

I'm on midgar and its bad i'd say.

-90% of all nms are botted to death (even low lvl ones, 2 people at a camp = someones going to start botting or already is), HNMs..... i won't go there, but winning the pull isn't skill its who has the better bot.

-Spam.... well lower jeuno is spamed to death, type something and go afk for 1hr and come back and you won't be able to see it in your text log anymore.

-Prices are jacked up, but then again they are on all servers, just we feel it a little more on certain items.

The only reason I keep playin on this server is because of my friends (rl and ingame). If it wasn't for them i would have quit long ago.

I'd like to respond in defense of Midgardsormr.

Yes, we may have had some rampant inflation in the last 6 months or so, but prices on everything has gone up so while many items are super expensive now many things also sell for many times what they used to over a year ago so in my eyes it really isn't that bad. I agree that some things are rather obscenely over priced but if you are smart and take the time to study and develop a way to make gil (be it farming, crafting, H.E.L.M., etc.) you can easily survive Midgard's economy.

The most appealing thing about Midgardsormr is our culture. We probably have one of the largest English speaking populations of any server. Midgardsormr is also the home to a large majority of the NA beta players that migrated from Cactaur after the beta ended. Many of these players that have been around since beta (and even many that have been here since NA retail launch) hold a great deal of knowledge about the game and tend to be friendly and helpful people. I'm not saying that Midgard is some utopia entirely free of noobs, idiots, and jerks, but I think our overall grade of character is above average.

If you are worried about bots you might as well not play on any server at all. No matter where you go there will always be people that want to cheat the system and use bots to their advantage. We also have our fair share of gil-farmers, but what server doesn't have them?

All in all, my opinion is that Midgard is a good place. I had the opportunity to world shift to Hades but I never considered it once even though some of my in-game friends (some that I had been playing with since beta) were shifting. I don't regret my decision to stay in the least. Midgardsormr is my home, the home of my in-game friends, and the home of many great players.

Jaraude has a good point.

Midgard isn't all that bad, but not too good either.

However Jaraude mentioning Cactaur makes me proud I am on Midgard, as that's why I'm on this server as well. No server IMO, will ever beat the awesomeness of Cactaur though. Very strong community and no worries for the most part will always make Cactaur have a special place with me.

The only deal now is the constant inflation/deflation of AH prices, and those dumb gilsellers who have nothing better to do in life but to cause trouble. Other then that I have tons of friends on Midgard, so I could never leave it. Both from beta and met sine retail launch.

I agree about Cactuar. It would seem that pretty much anyone I met back then was just like me and just the kind of person I wanted to be playing the game with. I still can't believe I managed my way through beta without meeting a single overzealous player.

I hear this a lot, but the prices on items that people like to compare with other servers so often seem to go up and continually increase in price at a faster rate than the various common drop materials in the game. Just because stacks of earth crystals can go for 1k doesn't mean Ochiudo's kote should be 1.5 mil (a little less now). A great lot of things aren't much different in price than they were months ago. Other things are.
