Give The TaruTaru Monks A Chance!

I was going to post this in the Monk section but i didnt for these reasons:
1. no one actually goes there -,-;;
2. This is a call out to all people! (Has nothing to do with talking to other MNKs)

I currently am a Lv.58 MNK and what makes me special is that im a Tarutaru. Ever since i began the job ive been getting rippd on for being a Taru MNK ive even had mean comments while LFP (; , ; ) Things like:
"{Hello!} {Experience Points} {Do You Need It?}"
"Ohh oops sorry (>,<;) {Tarutaru} {Monk} {Too weak} Sorr"
or
"LOL Tarutaru monk in party? {Thanks For The Offer But I'll Have To Pass}"
These are driving me crazy. its not like im gimp....

But people yell at me and call me {Too weak} Even when i can do a 300+ DMG with Raging fists and out damage the Galka Samaurai!

Another problem that i have is that i like to sub WHM... my other sub that i use is THF and id like to point this out.

The Difference between THF sub and WHM Sub
If i sub THF i Get +2 more dex then with WHM But with WHM i get +6MND more. . . . STR and ATTK And all The basic stats are the exact same ><;; I was kickd from a pty cuz the found out that i was WHM subd and i was calld {Too weak} and later on i was askd to rejoin the pty cuz they realizd that i was the main DD and had been better then their current Mithra MNK... i said screw them and didnt go back =P i was in another pty by then... anyway ive noticed that there are other Taru MNKs on the server and we are all being treated like weak runts (; , ; ) and its starting to really hurt when the galka SMN is chosen over me. . . . /sigh i am just saying to people to give the tarutaru a chance ....

Now.. first off, I'd love to pt with a tarutaru mnk.. esp when i can see them do dragon kick :D (omg tarus are just so cute~ and i can't have enough of them throwing their h2h weapon back to their little pockets :p) but i do have a question about ur sub. Why do u sub thf or whm? Why not war? Surely u know the benefits u'd get to sub war. Double Atk, Defender, Provoke, later on Warcry just to name a few. If u want to prove that a race work, u've got to show them that u have do ur homework. Just like a galka whm would have similar problem if he decide to sub war :p

My husband stopped lvling his taru mnk for this same reason. And yes he did sub war. People are ignorant. A good player with good gear > race. Period. Good luck Kyoto in trying to change the minds of the sheep, it won't be easy.

Monks are generally not wanted in parties from 50-59 simply because you level off crabs the entire time, and they can't open or close Distortion... Having only /Thf isn't helping your cause for PT invites either.

woot! go taru MNKS. That problems has only happened to me once when i was lvl22 MNK. Thank god getting pt's were easy for me.

ima try and /War but its gonna be tough in dunes.... Dunes + WAR = Tank.... Thats whats in the mind of ever noob that invites me. im lv 10 and have had to leave ptys b/c as a WAR Tarutaru i Cannot Tank... i need /NIN to Lv war it seems XD

Eww, leveling in dunes.....I absolutly hate that area. Tried it for 1 or 2 jobs (I forgot how many but I know I did it with SMN) and never went there again. Many other areas that work a lot better and usually can get more exp faster, espeically with the level of knowledge the current lv. 10's - 20's have.

all i got to say is. when your mnk is 72 and has asuran's fist, you wont be called a "runt" it will be like you just played the brown note, cuz i know i shit my pants when i saw the Tarutaru Backflip in asuran's fist

You might want to consider swapping O's Kote for your AF or a pair of Bracelets. Strength works wonders for Monks, and as Tarutaru are kinda on the low end of the Strength bar, it'd certainly be a boost. Just tough it out till you get to 60. Howling Fist opens Distortion which'll make you a much better canidate for a party. Still other than that...I got no arguments with your gear or your style

Taru war/mnk tank is just fine if you eat def/vit food and maybe bring along some regen drinks. It's harder, but still very viable. Besides, you won't even get utsusemi until lvl 24, and even then you'll need a backup tank for recasting.

sure it may be tough to lvl war sj in dunes, but trust me -- double attack, berserk and the lvl30 passive attack bonus make it more than worthwhile.

Your forgetting the biggest benefit from a /THF sub - Sneak Attack.

I've personally never seen anyone get kicked or refused an invite because of race. I've played with Taru monks, Galka mages, and what-not and never had any problems.

Also, Dunes is Powerlevel City these days. It's highly likely your PLer is going to be the tank, not you.

From the comments you're getting looks like they didn't even look at your sub job huh. I'm sorry to hear that but you really have some bad luck to always run into PT leaders like that. I could understand not getting monk because of skillchain limitations but saying you're "too weak" is just bleh.

Anyway it's my interpretation that monk equals mindless-crazy attackers ^^ a subjob that adds an appropriate boost to this for me would be /War. Straight up front attack boost without any thinking require :rolleyes:

/war doesn't mean you'll tank by the way. for example Drk/War doesn't tank. /war gives you the lovely double attack, berserker, warcry, STR and VIT. And yout PT will appreciate your /war so much if they have a real THF with them.

Don't be afraid of tanking with WAR/MNK sub in Valkurm, Kyo. It's more than possible if you've got a good party setup, i.e., another melee job in the party that can back you up, or even another WAR that can share tanking duty with you completely.
