whats with all the people leaving?

theres alot of ppl leaving lately. Alot in my LS because it got boring to them. Owell if it gets to dead ill join them.

I really don't like this game that much, but some small things keep me coming back for more. Like, for example, I just MPKed an Alliance of gil sellers at Serket with a Hellmine, that makes the game worh it.

It's kinda normal after two years, but actually FFXI looks like it's still amazingly vital, i came back today, after 5 months of absence, to find that there were still 3500 people online on my server, so it looks like the number of people leaving is counterbalanced well by the number of people coming back or just the number of newcomers entering the game for the first time.
Now i just need to remember how to provoke... :P

Man, what's wrong with you? Every single thread I've seen you make is about how well (or not) FFXI is doing.

Is your life force tied into the success of this game or something? :p

yea, i must admit final fantasy does suck. you might as well bail out now before you waste too much time/money!

have you tired world of warcraft? its a really fantastic game and it has some great official forums.

i was going to try WoW but decided not to. Its not that FFXI sucks, it's just that theres been alot of people leaving lately and there doesnt seem like to may people on at all.

ok caitsith had 3900+ and then i looked at Ramuh and it had 2227+ so yeh its not the most crowded server.

I'm taking a break right now to try out EQII. I was stuck leveling up my War subjob and just couldn't stand it anymore. That, and with school, work, and campaigning I didn't have the 3-6 hour blocks of time to get anything done. I cancelled my content IDs but I'll be back in May or June to keep things rolling. I've got to hit 70 one of these days with my Paladin :D

Well, since i left FFXI in January of '03, I've played almost every MMO out there and I'lll tell you why you should stay with FFXI in each case.

WoW: Ok, I leveled from 1-20 in 24 hours, WAY easy. And the community is almost as bad as Battle.net >< Be prepared to be griefed if you play on a PvP server.

EQ2: Very hard to level and it doesn't force you to group like FFXI does, making it harder to find groups because a lot of people are soloing. A ton of the armor looks the same.

DAoC: The PvP battles are 2nd to none, but leveling is boring. The combat itself isn't even that much fun.

Lineage 2: Griefers can take your stuff once they kill you, you HAVE to farm cash to get new gear and you'll be VERY weak without it, effectively making you farm 70% of the time to keep up with your level.

But, if you want to play them, go ahead. You'll probably disagree with what I say anyway. :)

As for server pop. I dont think ive ever seen above 3000 on Gilgamesh, (correct me if im wrong). And i love it that way, its not too crowded, not a billion other plds seeking pt's and prices are high... as much.

So i like my quiet little server... stay on 4000+ /ewwww
