Hi.

Just wondering if anyone knows of any news on the date for a new official strategy guide for 2005 yet.

I have a feeling there may have been something posted about this a while back, and I tried to think of something using the "Search Function" at the top, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. (probably because I can't think of anything appropriate enough which would give me the results I am looking/hoping for)

As far as I can remember, I think there was something being said for March, April, or May but it's all just a blurr in my mind unfortunately.

Does anyone know anything better here?
Please help.

The only thing I know of right now if the FFXI Atlas. That was originally supposed to be released in October of last year but has been pushed back and pushed back. I ordered it through www.overstock.com and the release date they finally put up was today 04/01/05. So hopefully I will get it sometime next week. This guide though isnt really a strategy guide like the one released last spring but the maps are supposed to be more detailed. For 13.00 I couldnt pass it up. If anyone knows of a more strategy guide being released please post it here.

According to the Bradygames official website, it will not be released until April 15th:

http://www.bradygames.com/title/0744004012

I can only assume the delay is because of adding all of the new updated information, hopefully it will be better than the last one because of this.

Yeah I keep seeing different dates on just about every website that sells it. I cant access Brady Games' sice at work but GameStop shows a date of aroung the 15th also. Who knows when I will be getting it. I mainly just wanted it for NM info. That way I didnt have to keep checking the net while I was playing on my PS2.

Hmmm...it makes you wonder. Did they delay it to add the content from the recent patch? And if they release it on the 15th, when the next patch comes out, end of this month?, will it will be outdated already? I know its an Atlas but new areas were put in and possibly coming in the soon-to-be next patch. Or will they release an addendum after patches? Ah, oh well, I'll buy it when it comes out as usual. I'm a lemming.

Well this morning my order said it would ship today but now it is saying tomorrow. I have a feeling it will just keep getting pushed back. GRRR

Get a printer. Print everything you see on Somepage.com and Mystertour.com. You will get... at least, x20 times more information then some crappy Brady Guide will get you. Brady are Valkurm noobs who get paid to suck ass at the game, and then tell you play as them.

If they give actual coverage of +60 content and CoP stuff, I will give them... some credit.

I usually import every guide that I can get my hands on for the FF series. I have a couple FFXI ones. One is a beginners guide. One is not an actual guide but a comic of sorts with basic playing info. Please let me know how this guide is Grunion if you get it! I'm eager to know if I should invest myself. Sometimes I jump in too fast though. Like with the FFXI clock. I purchased a Japanese one. Though my friend in Japan bought it, shipping fees raped me. I could have almost bought 2 of the ones released here for the price I paid for that one! LOL Live and learn!

Well I'm a lemming. LOL I buy all that is FF! So yes I bought the guide too. The first version I used quite a bit and definately got my money's worth. The updated edition I didn't use quite that often. It more or less just takes up space on my desk. But when I do use it, it is nice to have handy. I also have a binder with print outs from the net with FFXI materials.

And before someone says, "Why don't you use a windower and get your info while you play!??" let me answer that. I do have the program and do use it occasionally but I have problems with it. Not computer problems, human problems! LOL For some reason it makes me nauseous. I've tried all different resolution combinations too so don't suggest that. It just happens sometimes, not all the time though. I am sensitive to motion sickness, or it maybe old age, or because of my meds, or even a combination of some of those. Either way I don't risk using it and ending up sick for a couple hours. LOL Printed paper will just have to do! I'm a tree killer!! LOL
